(from Kleeman Press Release) The KLEEMANN CL 65 is a superlative all-out powerful sports coupe based on the new Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG. The stock twelve-cylinder bi-turbo engine is fitted with a KLEEMANN ECU upgrade that adds 127 Hp and a powerful 300 Nm to the cars already incredible performance figures.

The KLEEMANN ECU upgrade, also available for the Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG and SL 65 AMG, features a custom-programmed engine ECU control unit with altered engine electronics to ensure precise interaction of all engine components.

The tuning impact on the engines performance is phenomenal. Not only does it increase maximum power output and peak torque significantly, the midrange gains are truly exceptional. A 30 percent increase in engine torque is available from 2200 rpm to 5100 rpm. The engine boasts 300 Nm more torque at 4.000 rpm compared to a standard Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG.

Power is transferred to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission and to minimize wheel spin KLEEMANN has fitted the car with a locking differential. The KLEEMANN Limited Slip Differential (LSD) applies a 60 percent lock-up ratio between the rear wheels, meaning one wheel has 60 percent of the drive power, the other 40 percent.

At no time will only one wheel receive all the engines power thus reducing wheel spin and lowering accelerations times.

KLEEMANN also refines the Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG with tasteful aerodynamic-enhancement parts that are designed with the highest level of perfection for form and function. The appearance is sporty yet elegant and besides making the coupe look even more intriguing the aerodynamic package offers a performance advantage as well. At high speeds the front spoiler, with the built-in air ducts for brake cooling, reduces lift on the front axle thus further improving directional stability. The rear apron with the integrated diffuser panel rounds out the KLEEMANN aerodynamic package.

Another important customizing feature on the CL is the two-piece TM5 or the three-piece forged TS6 KLEEMANN light alloy wheels, which can be mounted on the coupe in 19- and 20-inch diameters. The largest possible combination on the CL is the KLEEMANN TS6 alloy wheel in size 9JX20 for the front axle with 245/35 ZR 20 tires, and 10JX20 with 285/30 ZR 20 tires on the rear.

To further increase the handling characteristics of the car KLEEMANN has developed an electronic body lowering module (EBL) for the ABC suspension, which lowers the ride height by up to 35 millimetres. In addition to adding a stunning look to the coupe the lowered ride height improves cornering agility.

Safety aspects are managed by the KLEEMANN high performance brake system, which easily handles even the most extreme braking tasks. The KLEEMANN brake system features 396 x 36 mm vented and cross-drilled discs with six piston calipers in the front, and 342 x 28 mm vented and cross-drilled discs with four piston calipers in the rear.

Upon customer request KLEEMANN refines the interior of the CL with customized leather and alcantara. Furthermore KLEEMANN offers exclusive accessories for the luxury coupe. The product line-up includes such attractive accessories as illuminated entrance panels with KLEEMANN logo, and an ergonomic KLEEMANN sport steering wheel with a choice of leather, leather/wood or leather/carbon. The finishing touch to the interior is genuine carbon inlays on the dashboard, centre-console and door covers which creates a sporty yet comfortable and exclusive feeling.

I'll take 2 please !..... Damn...

I should go ask for a test drive. Their shop is a 15 minute drive from here...

I would rather get the CL 65 AMG and get a new transmission, LSD and get the ECU upgrade.

BUt it would not be as powerful would it?
Torque
959 lb-ft

HP
739 hp

That's what the ECU is for. I read that Mercedes limitted the power to keep the transmission from roasting and other parts.
Look at all that torque. That's a lot of tire-shredding power.

Whoa! That's a gorgeous maching. Personally, I've pretty much always loved what Kleeman has come up with.

BUt I Don't like the lighting in some of their photo shoots. 👎

I am have troubles with GTP for some reason it wont fully load so I cant quote right but here it goes.

"Beautiful. But not as beautiful as a Hamann Laguna Seca II BMW M5."

First you mean the M3.
Second that car is a bit too flambouyant would be should be considered rice but since its got some power its not in my book.

well sorrrrrrry. Yes my bad, i meant the M3, but i have a hard enough time just keeping track of this site, let alone every other thing out there. And why would the M3 be considered rice at all? butterlfy door conversion? the roof and trunk mounted spoilers? a roof mounted spoiler isn't rice for a FR or MR or FF car pal. It add's central downforce to the front and rear wheels, for overall traction.

959 lb.ft. of torque? That's incredible. I can only imagine what that automatic transmission has to go through at full throttle. By the way, 285/30ZR-20, is that enough rubber to keep the car from melting the tires even at 80 mph? Some 335/30ZR-20 would be better at controlling the car, I think.

Only if you're burnin em. I'm sure anyone who can afford to buy that car would know what it is and therefor would know how to drive it, and would therefore have a featherfoot.

I just skimmed over the text, but didn't see any mention of a beefier tranny being dropped in. That's disappointing; the stock 737lb-ft is Merc's self-imposed limit to save the tranny from becoming an avant-garde piece of metal. Plumping that up 200lb-ft can seems like a waste if it can't even be used reliably.

And a C65? Are you sure it's not a 63 that would be testing, using the next-gen AMG engines? A C65 would leave a gap in Merc's bulging lineup as is; the E comes with the 5.5L Kompressor engine... why give a smaller car a much more powerful engine, the same as your biggest sedan? Unless of course, they really do plan on annihilating the next M3 and the RS4 in the horsepower wars.

Feh, what am I talking about, Mercedes plan of action for a few years now has just been to keep adding weight, cylinders, and power to their cars. I'm expecting a A55 and a Vaneo with the same engine within a year, damnit ;).

Which is why I said I would rather get the one from Mercedes with a new transmissiom, ECU, and LSD.

I guess the LSD could save the tires some.

Yeah the door thing makes it a BIT rice and the roof mounted spoiler? I have no clue what you mean. And just because a car has a spoiler doesnt mean its a damn ricer dude. BTW where the hell do you see a roof mounted spoiler?

PublicSecrecy
it's part of a $23,000.00 aerokit. And by rice i mean spoiler on rear decklid with a FWD vehicle.
What are you trying to say now? Just becuase it costs a lot of money for an Aerokit its not rice? Now dont get me wrong here I am not calling it a total ricer like a 18 year old with a Ford Focus I am just saying it seems a bit rice since it has that hideous hood and the doors. I dont have nothing against the spoiler.
*EDIT *BTW I think its FR.

#1. It's a door conversion, not new doors. #2. I KNOW ITS AN FR CAR, A RICED OUT ONE (AS AN EXAMPLE) WOULD BE A FWD/FF WITH A SPOILER ON THE BACK. Yeeesh. As for the hood, I don't think it's that ugly, and the aerokit is just for extra downforce (I'm not getting into whether it needs it or not) and styling purposes. duh. So is the Kleeman. Now I think BMW is being a bit more mature with the whole horsepower war thing, but they've always been kind of reserved.

If you need 20 spoilers you might as well remove the extra crap(scissor doors) and strip the interior.

Uh hello, this was about looks, not performance. the balance between rice 'n' nice is a fine line, but BMW practically carved that one in stone.
