The - is the crankshaft. The ` is cause it wouldn't recognize the spaces I initially put.

the cylenders are set in a W shape on each side of the motor. Like a V8 on top of another in the same block and offset the pistons/combustion chamber to make the motor half the size (almost). I think.

but are they slanted like _\ /_ or like \||/ ?

\||/ is closer, but both Vs have the same vertex (crankshaft).
When in doubt about explaining some complicated automotive thing, let Mark do it.
There's an explanation of VR6s at the top of the page, too.

Perfect example of a car that is far too overrated. The design isn't all that great, and if you really want 1000bhp, buy a Skyline or Supra, and modify that.

Well it is officially the fastest production car. And it has two keys :sly:

I'd buy it, if I had the money for it and a few other supercars.

I agree - there are other cars I would want first but this one is on my list. I'd rather it were blue where this one is black, and black where this one is red. I like the creme interior though.

And I'd drive the mug, not just put it in my car museum. I'd be out driving it all the time.

Too big.. Too heavy.. Too complicated.. Too Hyped..

I'd sell it if I had one...

That's the attitude! Drive the hell out of the car and put on as MANY miles as humanly possible while you own it.
I hate these sissy owners who purchase these magnificent vehicles most of us only dream about owning... only to store them in their garages. The vast majority of exotic owners are like this... which is why many of us will never witness what it's like to have the likes of an SLR, Enzo, Zonda,Carrera GT, etc, etc coming FAST in our side view mirrors... then quickly scream past us.

As for the Veyron... I wouldn't bother. Too... fussy. Not really my kind of car. If I had the money... I'd probably import an Ariel Atom first. Hehe

Yeah but that car is completely impractical. The Veyron you could take to the grocery store (:

I think the piston layout is as such: \X/

But, I doubt this fellow is really selling this pre-purchase. It seems as though he's trying to rob someone.

Surely people with that much money would not spend it sight-unseen. Surely.

it has only got a single crankshaft. therefore its more like \\//. its basically still a V engine, only the cylinders are not in line on each side but a little bit off so that they can be closer together.

and i am sure nobody would pay the whole sum in advance and there are better ways to rob someone than via ebay...that hardly works when its only about small amounts.

Read the link and stop guessing! It's two VR8s with a common crankshaft.

I'm astounding that they're actually finally producing this monstrosity. My money still says it will be plauged with problems and no one will buy them though.

I've decided, they'd also have to throw in fire extinguishers.

But why would you want a 1000hp skyline? No doubt you would have just bought a highly tuned car that you have done no work to yourself. Not to mention it is probably very unreliable.

lets pretend :)
you have millions of dollars, pounds, euros, whatever... the exact amount of money you would need to purchase the Veyron, so what do you do. Spend it on an overhyped VW, spend it on another supercar, or take a normal/sporty car and modify that with parts that you wanted.

I can say that in my opinion the Veyron would not get a look in, I would head straight down to my nearest Dodge dealer, which in the UK would be hard to find, slap the money on the desk and ask for a brand new Viper SRT-10 with all the options my heart desired.

Where I come from 1000HP Skylines are very common. And they are as reliable as any other car.THANK YOU VERY MUCH :sly:

and why would I pick a Skyline???? :dopey:
Cause very very few cars in this world could match a skyline for the price and performance. Is that enough for you???
Plus I just had the pleasure driving an R33 GTR. kicking out 977hp. And my eyeballs are still stuck to the back of my head :sly:
