This car looks great! It's beautiful. New wheels, new front bumper.

I'm really liking how Mitsu has returned to the traditional Lancer grille and has abandoned the split design; it never worked for me.

I'd heard it was hideous. I admit the little pillars holding those squinty little foglights don't do much for me, but it's prefectly fine even with them. I was worried, but now I'm not.

I find it highly amusing that a number of car companies that jumped on the "MUST HAVE AN UGLY CORPORATE GRILLE STUCK ON ALL OUR CARS" bandwagon a few years ago (Mitsubishi, Nissan) are now dropping it just as a few manufacturers that really should know better (Audi, Subaru) have ruined their newest cars by adding one on...

...and Volkswagen. The Passat, Phaeton ( 👍 ), Toureg and (I think) the new Bora/Jetta, but the Bora might have the Golf's face, I'm not sure.

I like the new one its better looking then the last one that came out.

I also think this car is beautiful !!

Maybe these pictures will influence your opinions :)

One things for sure the styling has hardly changed (the last three evo's have been similar) but it sure is stunning !

Well are they going to do the same thing they did with the VIII? Add more weight and no more power?

I've not seen any stats but i'm guessing there will be a 330 & 400 bhp models

There was plenty of power to begin with...

Looks good, not too sure on the little fog lights though, especially on the lighter coloured cars like that silver one in the pictures.

And about the corporate faces, I really like the new Audi styling.

It looks exactly like an Evo VIII... I can't tell the difference...

Thank god they got rid of that idiotic middle pillar thingy and went back to an open grille. I have renewed love for the Evo.

You're thinking of the concept drawings for the Evo X. If the real car looks anything like the concept drawings, I will be very, very disapointed with Mitsubishi.

Agreed. Unfortunately though, it doesn't seem to be hurting sales. New A4s and A6s are common in Toronto, and Tribecas, in all their hideous, monstrous glory, are also well on their way to becoming common too.

I personally love the 7 look the best.. The 8 is barably in certain colors (white/red/blue/silver)..it looks extremely "phony" in black.

The 9 looks alright, doesn't look as agressive, as for the 330 and 400 models, I could care less.. the states don't get them, so those whoopidee do poor europe for getting hosed on past model models i don't care about.

I'm not a complete fanatic of the Lancer, but this Lancer is very nice with its clean lines. I actually thought the Evo VIII looked pretty mean. I didn't think the Evo VIII was an eyesore, and I don't think this Evo IX is an eyesore either. It looks more subtle than aggressive. I'm not going to use the term "boy racer" in talking about the rear wing. The lineage of the Mitsubishi Lancer is well defined in rallying. Speaking of rallying, I'd sure like it see it in red and silver in WRC trim. Nice lines on the Evo IX. Big :tup:s to Mitsubishi.

Bleah. To me the new Audis look like pissed-off whales trolling for krill.

Those aren't foglights in those little holes in the bumper. The foglights on an Evo VII, VIII, and IX are the inside pair in the actual headlight cluster. Those extra intake holes are for extra cooling to the intercooler, radiator, and brakes. The new front undertray is now completely closed off, so the air coming in the front gets right to where it needs to. So, those holes just help get some extra air to places it needs to.

Hilg

They removed the little triangular piece behind the Mitsu badge (which never bothered me at all, but apparently some people hate), and the intercooler opening is slightly different. It's subtle but it's there.

So in other words, they almost haven't done anything on the car except a change in the grill and some engine changes. Well, hope there will be a test in top gear next year vs. the 2006 Skyline and the 2006 Supra 👍

Why... Why do the insist on those stupid holes where the fogs would go!?! :banghead: What the hell did they change?! :dopey: you could say that for most of the gens starting from VII.

I'm very sorry i do not get your meaning on this subject???

Why the hell would you not want a 400bhp evo? it stuns me!
