2007 LEXUS LS460L

Lexus is determined to outdo its German rivals - that much became apparent at the world launch of the LS at this year's Detroit show. The new 203-inch long-wheelbase LS gets a raft of tech equipment and a 380-hp V-8. But to New York audiences, it's the hybrid model that will be on world-first display. Toyota promises the hybrid version will be "the ultimate Lexus." Count on an appearance by Andy Roddick or another collateral celebrity.

Anyways, only 380hp from 4.6L + hybrid powertrain? I thought Toyota can crank out so much more hp out of 4.6L, guess I was wrong.

You know I love Lexus. They make some very beautiful automobiles (except for the large-ish LX series of SUVs). I actually believe this is the car to challenge the Germans. One of the key elements of luxurious and classy sedans is elegance. To say this car doesn't have that is idiotic. This car is VERY classy and actually looks the part of something I think even the Europeans can appreciate with this genre of automobile. This is a well-done job by Lexus, and it's a car I can actually see myself owning if I had the money (and I need LOTS of it!). I can imagine going up and down the Houston Galleria and River Oaks here in Houston with something as classy as this automobile while seeing mostly Porsches and stuff around that part of town. It is a very beautiful automobile and I see very little wrong with the car.

Out of 100% approval, I will present this with 97% approval. Very wonderful car in my opinion.

I still dont like the frot though....its bland. The Infiniti M45 front end looks great; or the Q45, it looks better than the LS460. Lexus shouldve used those cars as an example - the reason why LS wasnt much of a success was partly due to its boring design.

Lexus will never outdo BMW mercedes etc. They lack soul compared to their german rivals and some people say BMW's lack soul already.

Personal preferences. You can only see a "soul" in a car if you like the manufacturer or the country or their success in motorsport, their history etc.
So you seem to like Audi, I live 30 km away from Ingolstadt were Audi's are made and I don't like them at all and I'd take a Lexus over an Audi every day. As I said, personal preferences....
