Porsche has released a single teaser image of its forthcoming 2008 Porsche Cayenne. The new model is facelifted version of the existing SUV, with updated sheetmetal all around. In the teaser image, three versions of the new Cayenne can be seen from the front only. We're expecting more details in the near future.

Looks better, IMO - they finally got rid of the "911 on a lift" look... Which also adds up to these pictures, taken from the Nurb' Webcam, of two Suspicious-looking Porsche SUVs, which hung out with a 911, a Volkswagen, and a Cayenne Turbo.

I spotted this weird Porsche SUV. Could this be some Cayenne-successor? There were two, plus a Cayenne Turbo...

Like Clarkson from Top Gear would say, the worlds laziest designer strikes again.

Doesn't looks amazingly different, but at least it's not as bad as the Mini facelift.

Loving the bonnet ridges though.

I think it works. It's enough to quell the image of a 911 in elevator shoes, but still looks very much like a Cayenne. You can't really mess too much with the design a successful car.

But, uh, do you think they could have made those photos any darker? I'd like to see the rest of it, please. It's like the girl who won't take her clothes off unless the lights are out.

Do those tail light streaks come standard?

I'd still rather buy the VW cousin, but that may just be me...

Hmm, hints at being better looking than the current model, but we'll see when better pics are released.

Do those tail light streaks come standard?

Only if you live in an anime version of the Gunma Prefecture, where it appears to be a natural phenomenon. XD

The new Cayenne nose seems somehow...Audi-ish.

The rear is just plain ugly. They tried to make the front too sportscarish. I also think the triple vents up front are pretty akward. They make the car look tall with a very high ride height. I don't really like any of the next-gen German SUVs. GL wasn't much better.

Hit on the front; miss on the rear.

This car would look sick with a drop and the previous tails inserted.

As someone who liked the Cayenne, I can say that this really doesn't do anything better. The main elements are arguably better, but the details are contrived and messy (the 3 slat grill, for example).
