April 4th:
Premiership - Fulham all but put themselves safe at the expense of Wigan Athletic with a 2-1 win. West Ham do themselves no favours but, with a 2-2 draw stave off Portsmouth's relegation for another day.

April 5th
Championship - 0-0 between Cardiff and Forest sees Newcastle return to the Premiership. Peterborough are relegated after a 2-2 draw at Barnsley.
League 1 - Stockport lose at leaders Norwich, but retain their division for another match yet. No other significant moves today.
League 2 - Darlington lose again, but with 7 games to play they're still mathematically safe for now.
Blue Square - The top five all do their bit to remain the top five, leaving just three other teams with the slightest of chances to get in amongst them.

April 10th
Premiership - Without playing, a win for West Ham sees Portsmouth finally relegated.
Championship - A win at Doncaster for West Bromwich Albion sees the Baggies promoted for the fourth time in nine seasons (along with four relegations).
League 1 - No movement at the top, but Stockport lose 3-1 at Yeovil and are relegated to League 2.
League 2 - Darlington manage an incredibly unlikely goalless draw at manage to stay in the league for at least another match, 21pts from safety with 21pt remaining... Even less likely is Rochdale's hammering at Torquay, which means that Rochdale are not yet certain of automatic promotion, 14pt clear with 15pt available to their rivals and a game in hand!

April 13th
League 2 - Even more unlikelyly, Darlington beat Rochdale, allowing Notts County to take over the league lead. The result isn't enough for Darlington as Cheltenham scrape a draw, moving one point out of Darlington's possible reach and relegating them.

April 17th
League 1 - Norwich City bag the three points they need to wrap up automatic promotion, though the title is still up for grabs...
League 2 - Both Rochdale and Notts County net wins, remaining 2nd and 1st overall but both securing promotion.
Blue Square Premier - Stevenage Borough take three points and with it the title and automatic promotion to the Football League

April 19th
Premiership - West Ham lose by three at Liverpool, leaving the relegation battle still hilariously wide-open.
Championship - Newcastle beat Plymouth 2-0, securing the league title for themselves and relegating Plymouth (6pt down, 6pt remaining, but with the final game of the season being between two relegation rivals, one of which must finish with more points as a result)

April 24th
League 1 - Norwich City take the title by beating Gillingham - Southend unable to capitalise on Gillingham's loss by only drawing and relegating themselves in the process.
League 2 - Bournemouth beat Burton and gain promotion to League 1 as a result.

April 25th
Premiership - Hull City lose again and, while not technically relegated at this point, find themselves 6pt down with 6 left to get and a goal difference inferior to the next team by quite some margin. They'd need to win two games 12-0 while West Ham fail even to draw...

April 26th
Premiership - Burnley lose 4-0 at home to Liverpool and are relegated.

April 27th
League 2 - Notts County annihilate Darlington 5-0 and take the League 2 title.

May 1st
League 1 - An away defeat for Wycombe Wanderers sees them relegated to League 2.

May 2nd
Championship - A disgraceful refereeing performance from Mike Dean, failing to send several players off as four Wednesday players receive head injuries, not giving a cast-iron penalty and blowing full time during a set piece sees Sheffield Wednesday relegated. Hope you're happy, you 🤬

May 3rd
Premiership - Hull fail to net their first away win of the season and a 2-2 draw with Wigan relegates them.

May 16th
Blue Square Premier - Oxford United beat York City 3-1 in the playoff final and are promoted back to the league.

May 22nd
Championship - Blackpool beat Cardiff City 3-2 in the playoff final and are promoted to the Premiership.

May 29th
League 1 - Millwall beat Swindon Town 1-0 in the playoff final and are promoted back to the Championship

May 30th
League 2 - Dagenham & Redbridge beat Rotherham United 3-2 in the playoff final and are promoted to League 1.
