The folks at Honda's European offices apparently aren't ones to leave much to the imagination. The next generation European Honda Accord (and next gen US Acura TSX) gets undressed with the same kind of modesty normally reserved for Page 3 girls. Other than a full profile shot, we get to see almost every angle of the touring (wagon) version of the new Accord. The version in the video and photos still retains the strong lines and extruding grille of the current Accord/TSX but has moved away from the Star Destroyer look by adding a few curves.

Unfortunately, we probably won't be getting a wagon version of the Acura TSX. Just squint your eyes and imagine the teaser shots without the shapely trunk area (or check out these spy photos of the 2009 Acura TSX). We hear it'll be coming with an optional 260 horsepower version of the 2.3-liter turbocharged four found in the Acura RDX.

See the video and photos here

I've said in the past that I like the TSX very much, and this appears to be continuing that theme. The turbocharged engine option (?) should be a good one, something that is needed in a car that size. One hopes its still "cheap" and "fun-to-drive," as that is what made the TSX awesome from the get-go.

I'm interested to see how it looks compared to the Accord you guys get.

I was pleased that Honda came out with an more aggressively-styled Accord as a prototype. But when the retail car was unveiled, I have to say that I was disappointed with its looks. I've never hated the Accord. I do think the most recent Accord was styled aggressively, I was actually disappointed in its looks, especially up front. The previous Accord couldn't have been styled any better (using the coupe version as a basis). Everything was cleanly styled. It's not some bad ass character car, so it was perfectly fine to go subtle and lovely with it. I say it's okay to be aggressive in design as long as it isn't overkilled. Ever seen the side profile of the latest Accord? It's horrid to me. The headlights and taillights are elongated along the sides of the car in terrible fashion. The design isn't a disaster; it's just disappointing for an aggressively-style concept for the final build to come out to what's in dealers now. The back end does look very nice. I just didn't wish it didn't go into the sides of the car. The headlights could have been a bit more boxy and less edgy. Overall, I just felt pretty disappointed in its design. I will give it some credit- looks incredibly aerodynamic.

Having said all of this, let me move on to this possible Euro model. I seem to like the lights as well as the grill. It looks to be a knockout when released in Europe as well as our Acura TSX. I'll be interested as to how the retail version shapes up when relased.

Looks pretty good. Like always, the euro accord always looks better than the american one. Lets hope they will rebadge it as the next gen TSX

That headlight looks like its come off the current EU Honda Accord...

I think its a minor evolution of the design overall, not a radical change. If you ask me, thats a good thing. I like the look of the car as-is at the moment...

I feel the same, Ive been in one recently (the estate) and its a cracking car to look at and be in.... seeing as one of the most expensive adverts in history was made to promote it (the cog advert) im sure they Honda quite happy with the design!

So is this like previous (American) Accord sized? Or is it not much bigger than the current car?

I like it, it looks pretty nice. "Distinctive" would be a good word to describe it. You aren't going to mistake it for much else... Well, maybe not. It looks a bit like the Saturn Aura (Opel Vectra) now that I think about it.

Still, diesel power should be the headline. The fact that Honda/Acura is jumping on likely means that we will see more diesel options from others pretty soon.

Well, looks like Acura’s quite determined to ruin its lineup – only the TL is left to screw up.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. HONDA YOU'VE RUINED TWO AWSOME SALOONS PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT SCREW UP THE TL.

If they screw up the TL I will hate Honda forever.

It'd be really cool if they finally bring the wagon over here(they show a pic of one). No, I'm not holding my breath.

From the Edmunds:
Last week at the Chicago auto show, Acura unveiled the new 2009 RL, which wears a similar grille to this new TSX. Apparently we're looking at the new face of Acura and should expect a similar clumsy treatment on the all new TL sedan, which will be shown later this year

Well. It would've been really hard to top their last effort(s).

I read a BBC article that said the European makers were preparing to bombard the US market with diesels. Dad seems to be set on a Jetta Sportwagen TDI. I'm not complaining.

I'll give that car a year or two. They seem pretty determined to keep customers off their lots.

I like that one better than the Acura and our "American" Accord...

I think the TSX looks pretty nice, though maybe they did take a little too much from the Camry styling. But the Camry doesn't look bad.

Well, they sharpened the older lines of the Accord, and it does not look at all that bad, as modern sedans go from Japan. How is it exactly 'ugly'?

Well, the only gripe I have about the car is the grill, and that's minor at best.

But it's going to NY! Yay! I'll be able to see it. :D
