Sundays Top Fuel final was :

W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed

(W) Larry Dixon (Al-Anabi Racing Dragster) 0.054 3.981 294.05
(L) Brandon Bernstein (Budweiser/Lucas Oil Drag) 0.053 7.257 94.06

5:59 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 28.70 inches, adjusted altitude 3,520 feet, track temperature 115 degrees.
Bernstein comes in holding a 17-11 edge against Dixon in prior events and has won both times they have squared off in final rounds. Their most recent final round meeting was Brainerd, 2007. Dixon has 46 wins in 86 prior final rounds, Bernstein has 17 wins in 30 prior finals. Dixon will leave here either second or fourth in the points. A win by Dixon will move him past Tony Schumacher, into second place in the championship points. A win by Bernstein will move him past Dixon, into third in the championship points.

They left together, but Bernstein's rear tires were up in smoke after 100 feet or so, while Dixon went right down the groove with his best run of the day.

That's it, this event is over after a 1.5-hour rain delay before the start of racing today. Thanks to the Bader family for their hospitality and for all they do for the sport of drag racing.

Funny Car final was :

W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed

(W) Jack Beckman (Valvoline/MTS Charger) 0.001 4.315 277.54
(L) Bob Tasca III (Motorcraft/Quick Lane Mustang 0.099 6.470 149.93

Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 35 percent, barometer 28.70 inches, adjusted altitude 3,520 feet, track temperature 115 degrees.
This is the first time Tasca III and Beckman have faced each other in eliminations. Beckman with a near perfect light and blast on through for his second National event win this year and his eighth career National event win. Beckman with his quickest pass of the day. With the win Beckman moves into fourth place in the points. Tasca was up in smoke as soon as he hit the throttle.

Is it just me, or are the rear spoilers on Funny cars a LOT bigger than I remember them?
