I'll give you a non smartass answer. No, I don't believe so. I have 3 of these, each one painted a different color. Flames remain gold.

Different colors do seem to change the shade of the flames a bit, but nothing seems to make them blend away - or look very good. You basically have either bright gold, or dark gold.

Mine is painted reflex purple with gold wheels and doesn't look too bad imo. I'll try to take a pic and put up later.

I painted mine Matte Black to try to make the Flames stand out more... That car is a bit of a Modern Art Masterpiece in terms of aesthetics.

That isn't a good thing.
