Interest Check
A new idea for a series I have. With the Inaugural 2011 B-Spec Chapinship being so popular and the 2011 B-Spec NASCAR Champinship now under way I'm checking to see who is interested in my next series.

This is how it will work -

Every driver entered must be a complete rookie. Level 0. No races at all under their belt.

Members must set up a separate PSN account specifically for this series so that the drivers are raced in this championship and do not gain experience outside of it. This is how the playing field is kept even.

A points system will be in place similar to the system being used for the B-Spec NASCAR Cup.

The amount of races to be held and drivers that can enter is yet undecided but it's something I will arrange with interested members.

Leave a post here if you're interested or have any questions.

The only thing I see that may be an issue is that the one 0 exp. bob will end up being run by other users' widgets. Otherwise, I gotta pick a guy to retire and sign up!

That's the whole reason I recommend anyone who has their drivers run on a widget make a new PSN ID exclusively for this series.

Wait...will that work? I've never set up a second PSN account so have no idea if it would give access to new Bobs that are not on the main account. God, I'm so clueless about technology! :dunce:

it should work i have other accounts with bobs but not set up for widget.
any ways if you get this going i'm in

Cool. I don't think it'll be for a while, probably after the NASCAR series finishes.
Any one who is interested can have a place reserved.

Very interested. Finally I can guarantee that I'll have a driver available to participate

EDIT: I'll even contribute 10x paints for the winner

I'm interested, my GTP_ account isn't run by anyone and I could retire a driver to start fresh.

Actually, gaining experience isn't really an issue, as the drivers do not really gain experience, or level up, until the prizes are "received". The only issue you have is that your drivers may be unavailable, if they're being raced elsewhere, which is no different from any other championship.

The main reason I ask for a separate account is so that the drivers can be raced only in this series.

With regards to the drivers levelling up, I know that they only appear to go up once the prizes are collected but I'd like to it this way just to be certain.

As for prizes I've got a nice selections of matte paints to offer or I was thinking maybe I could offer a premium membership to the site providing, for non-premos of course, I could arrange with the admin some kind of Western Union payment because, as some of you know, I can't do it through Paypal and the like.

So prizes could be a stack of goodies for the winner or the choice of premium membership.

FYI: the NASCAR races will begin today, sorry for the delay. The racing is easy, the organising is the tricky part and I've been swamped down with work recently. Good luck everyone. 👍

IMHO I think premo is a bit much for winning something for doing absolutely nothing. Especially the hassle involved for you to pay for it.

I think between the people here we can put together a nice prize package that doesn't involve any real money, and since this is at least another month away by that time I can probably offer cars by then. Like a choice of Academy car any color 0/0. And of course I'll offer gear as well.

Only a suggestion shem. I also realize $12 is not a lot of money. :sly:

Well, since this one involves a new lvl 0 bob and won't bother my grinding bobs then i'd be interested too...👍

Races should be mayhem with a grid full of lvl 0 bobs! Perhaps try to record some races Shem? Could be entertaining. :)

I agree, maybe it's a bit too much seeing the bother it would cause me and I'm not even sure that I could arrange it.

I could try, but to be honest, I'm a technotard and wouldn't know where to start. It would be very entertaining. :)

I'm interested.

But As far as I know, bobs will not gain any experience even when he was remote raced, as long as you don't collect the prize money.

That's is the way it's displayed but there is no evidence to prove it's true. It could be that they gain XP and improve and only the drivers profile is updated when the prizes are claimed.

I'll save you a spot. 👍

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that they do not gain experience. I've had level 0 drivers who were level 30+ once the prizes were received, and they were racing just like level 0 drivers, not like level 30+ drivers. Any level 10-20 driver could beat them easily in the same car.

In that case I'm going to take your word for it. Most people seem to be saying the same thing. It makes arranging the events much easier too. 👍

Sign me up again..... I'm in...

PS> Let me know if you need prizes again... I'll contribute more...

Place reserved. 👍

I'm thinking this tournament could be a big experiment to see whether driver personality (coolness/hot-headedness) is a defining factor in the way B-Spec operates. Thoughts?

yes most definitely it should be more prevalent at level 0.... a Hot level 0 driver should be all over the place at least mine were....

Hi There,

Definitely interested and will start a fresh Bob just for this, as for the new account for Bob, I don't think needed ;) A fresh level 0 Bob will only gain EXP after he is cashed in even If he has raced 100 times (someone please correct me on this if i'm wrong) Therefore the rule could be put in that any Bob found to haee gained EXP will be instantly DQ'd 👍

Count me in 👍

Added - The way to check would be with the initial pic like in Nascar and then compare stats bars when viewing Bob in future :)

Count me in. Got 2 acct(wife n another for US games) with no friends linked so the b spec will be level zero with no race. Wasted that my driver cld not join the NASCAR. Can pm me when the new series starts.

I'm in! I'll need to retire a driver and create a new one.

I'll contribute to prize package, any ticket & some gear.

OK. This new series is looking promising. I like what Igywana said about DQ'ing any drivers found to gain XP. I'm just wondering how I can arrange the comp so that I can involve more than 15 other drivers in each championship. The first cup was a B*t*h to run because so many were involved and I made a few errors trying to keep track of all the drivers and scores. Any thoughts?

I don't have enough experience in these matters to make a suggestion, but I would definitely be interested in this. Just unlocked a fresh bob; would like to see how he shapes up against others
