I'd definitely like to try this out if only to further the B-spec research into how to train the best Bob. If you've still got room, I'm in too!

Looks like I'm getting a good response on this championship idea. Anyone posting in this thread, up to a certain point, can safely grab themselves a place.

Replay usage per race event.
You can select to save replay before starting each B-spec remote races.
Now the GT5 replay data file can be exported to XMB then moved Via USB to PC zipped then uploaded.

The file size is 50MB just for the GT5 replay data.
This would allow the user to view the replay From their choice of driver, Not just your camera choices.

Don't know if admin could allow you extra upload options here but loading that replay file on external upload sites might be hard from china.

For racers to see this ...
Example replay http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VMMNO978.
They have to down load it, unzip it, put it on USB device, copy to PS3 save section, then import in GT5.

The other option is for you to do a High lights Direct Replay recording but with level 0 drivers thats going to be every single corner.

That's good news. 👍

I'm sure there's a way to get the videos onto the web even if it's through an external hosting site. I've got a Flickr account that allows me to upload videos but I'm not sure what limit they have on the file.

I'll look into it.

Otherwise I could always stick it up on Youku, the Chinese version of Youtube. There's no problem accessing it from outside China.

Is it to late to get in on this?

I don't think so. I'm not sure how many people have already posted for a place but if there's room then you're welcome to join. 👍

I call my spot. Don't know which driver to use though, so many good names to choose from.

What do you think the overall number of drivers should be in this competition?

Obviously only 16 can race at any one time but I can make it so each driver gets the same amount of races and it doesn't matter who they race against as they'll all be level 0.

It's difficult work organising the drivers and rankings and what not so I don't want there to be too many but perhaps 32 could be possible, every race alternating between the first 16 drivers and the last 16.

Thoughts please?

32 might get complicated and all the bobs wouldn't get to race each other. I was thinking 24 with three groups of 8 where two groups raced and one sat out. That way all the bobs could race each other for fairness.

^ That is not a bad idea!

But wouldn't the host, usually myself, have to be involved in every race for it to start? That would mean having 7 in each group, not including the host.

Oh yea I forgot. Then the number would be 21. I guess there are some details to work out. Now I'm wondering what you would do with three spots as host. How do you think you'll be counted/discounted from the championship with more races/drivers?

I don't mind hosting and leaving my driver out of the rankings. It means I could enter a level 40 driver just to get him clear of the field so that he doesn't affect the outcome.

Being that there are three groups you could always enter one driver and put a lvl 40 in for the other two spots.👍

I know it's a very old thread that I'm bringing back from the dead, but are you still thinking of doing this, shem? Reason I'm asking is because when I retired all my $20M drivers to make some new ones, I had decided to leave one at level 0, untouched, ready for this championship, and by now, that driver has not just accumulated enough money to fill my offline bank account, but has enough XP to get all the way to level 40! I'm still happy to keep him at 0, if you are indeed still planning on doing this, even if it's still a while away. But if you do not plan on doing this still, I may as well cash him in, and see how he looks at 40. Let us know! 👍

I've been having a break from B-Specing. It's still in the pipeline though, maybe towards the end of the year.

Yesterday I switched my ISP and the bastards gave me the worst line ever, too slow to even connect to PSN and it was claimed 4m!

I'll have to reset my ISP and then start thinking about how to get this one off the ground.

I was thinking of running it from a different account of mine so that the only PSN I.Ds I have will be for the runners of this series. Ideas?

Not sure what the best approach would be, but as long as it's still in the pipeline, I'll keep Sir Win level 0. 👍

Guys there isn't a series as of yet. Did you even read shems last post?
And Shem that sucks about the Internet, I don't even know what to tell you.

If you want, shem, I could admin this. 👍 To take the burden off your shoulders... why are you taking a break shem? Not feeling well?

That would be cool. I doubt I'd get it going until a while from now. If you want to help out, it's the actual racing that has got me waiting because of my Internet situation at home. My connection drops, I lose the link between my Laptop and PS3 and being at work I can't do anything making RR difficult.

If you'd like to do the racing, I can take care of the organising, that's the part I enjoy, we could do it together as a team. What do you think?

I'm taking a break because, partly, I've been ill for a while, and partly my work load has increased and I'm now working two jobs at the same time! I'm online all day in the office so lots of time on GTP just very little time at home with my PS3 and home (Remote Racing) computer.
