Did not see anything about this one yet.
I find any Aston Martin deserves a thread.

It seems a real 2+2 (baby or golfsticks at the back).

6.0 litre V12 engine produces 490 bhp (365 kW/497 PS)
and 570 nM (420 lb. Ft) of torque
carbon fibre prop shaft, six-speed Touchtronic II automatic transmission perfect 50:50 weight balance.

I do not get the description between the DB9 and DBS.
Virage capitalises on the technology from the DBS and unites it with the comfort and refinement found in the DB9 and Rapide.
More power then the DB9 and more seats then the DBS?
Seems like a follow up for the DB9 to me.

Beautiful car, more so than any Aston since the DB7, but shockingly un-original... getting to the point where they are taking the P as much as Porsche and Audi do!

Aston need a new unique model line, I'd like to see something a little more brawny from Aston Martin, since I miss the old V8 Vantage that was basically replaced by the Vanquish.

Looks like every other car in the Aston line-up, and therefore mesmerizingly pretty.

I know what it says. That doesn't mean that is what it actually is.

If they actually sell it a price point between the DB9 and DBS, will that be good enough for you to see the car is what they say it is? Or will you still say it's something else?

I dunno. How about you ask the OP, since he expressed the same sentiment and was the one who posted the news in the first place.

Jesus that is pretty. I'd trade out the taillights for regular red ones, but that front is just absolutely stunning. I never liked how the DBS cluttered the 9's looks, and this just does all the right things.

I never thought I'd say this, but for an Aston Martin, it looks pretty boring. It's jsut like every other dar in their current line-up, and it's getting to the point where you can't tell the differences between the models. Give me the Jaguar Growler E any day of the week instead:

I don't know. I actually like this new Vantage.. errh... Vanquish... errh... is that a two-door Rapide?

I'm confused.

EDIT: Jaguar Vaporware (?) is mighty purrrr-ty.

Virage = DB9 replacement. Even though it's basically a DBS in a less-perforated dress.

It seems Aston are shifting back towards names - and old names at that - in place of letter-letter-number. Which makes one wonder what the DBS replacement will be called...

I think Aston have always had a pretty even spread of names and numbers in the range, DBx naming isn't a new thing and pretty much came before all the V cars, and the DBS name was used back in the Sixties also. The two cars they make that don't really fit their previous naming convention are the Rapide, and the One-77, neither of which are a 'David Brown' Model, neither state engine configuration, and neither start with a V.

Anyhow, I fear I'm being a pedant...

I think I prefer this to the DB9/DBS as it is just cleaner and less fussy looking...

A pedant would have included the Cygnet :D

However, they go in waves - they started with DBs, then, suddenly, names (Zagato/Rapide). Then back to DBs (DB5/6/S) and back to names (Zagato/Vantage/Lagonda/Virage/Vantage). Then back to DBs (DB7), and back to names again (Vanquish). Then back to DBs (DB9), and back to names again (Vantage). And back to DBs again (DBS) and then back to names (Cygnet/Rapide/One-77/Virage).

At present, the only DBs in the range are the DB9 - which this Virage is replacing - and the DBS. There's nowhere to go after 9 - double figures look messy, "DBX" looks ridiculous and any other letter would be just plain confusing. I'm willing to bet the DBS replacement has a name - though I couldn't hazard a guess as to what it is...

It's also worth a note that it seems a future model (Vantage replacement?) may well be running a 2.5 turbo straight six...

Yes, but someone who has seen a Cygnet would have had hypnotherapy to blot it from their mind, and then may be excused if they were to forget it! :nervous:

I'd imagine the DBS replacement will be called Virage S? What they do then... maybe a new Vanquish...

The drugs don't work, they just make it worse...

Even though the DBS replaced the Vanquish, I imagine the name Vanquish is off the menu for a DBS replacement - something like 75% of all Vanquishes ever made have gone back for bodywork repair...

I'll put money on it beginning with a V and making no sense as a word though.

Either way i think Aston is trying to compete directly with the Audi R8 and Ferrari California. And maybe the Mercedes AMG SLS. It probably won't be as fast but it'll make that up in terms of driving feel like all Astons. Plus it's prettier than all of them but I agree with the fact it may be a little unoriginal.

I suggested the Venari... It'll be something along those lines.

It looks great, but then again all astons look almost exactly the same. Did they run out of design ideas or somthing?

I think it looks amazing - but then again, all of Aston-Martin's cars look gorgeous!:sly: I don't mind them sticking with such a good thing like that that they have going! An Aston-Martin, to me, should look like an Aston-Martin and nothing else. I hope it's a nice to sit in and drive as it is to look at in pics!

<<Long list of improper Aston Names....>>

Aston Martin Vauxhall? :dopey:

I didn't know it was a DB9 replacement, however, I would be inpressed if Aston increased the power only by a little, I know, Astons aren't meant to be that fast, they are supposed to thump you with an incredibly wave of torque and a glorious V12 noise, but powah is like ice cream, the more the merrier. :D

Went to the dealership today. But lacked a bit of cash to bring a Virage home.:) Due to the crowd (seemed invited lunch) also did not take pictures.:ouch:

The owner put a sales guy on my back (I came from work and had a suit on). I was surprised about the sales talk: In short they were selling it as a DBS with 20 hp less and less carbon. More comfortable then most other Aston Martins and a super offer compared to the DB9.
I found it more elegant then the DB9, but the back seats are not worth having (same as DBS indeed) since the front seats seem to be very close to where they start (see where the seatbelt is).

Looks sleek, but yet predictable.

Aston Martins are meant to arrive to important places in. Can't see myself tracking an Aston Martin if I ever had a super car.
