Have you guys seen the new Jaguar for the new Xk series. The XKR-S. For years now I have been saying that Jaguar could put alot more power into the XK. And yes the XKR came along but yet still did not satisfy my taste for what truley this car could be. I mean really there is alot more power to be had out of the XKR. Its no longer your luxury cruiser. Finally Jaguar took the right step with the XK going from your average $60,000 luxury vehicle to a very high potent GT car. Looking forward to see this vs the new Aston Martin Virage.

Go to ultimatecarpage.com to see pics, for some reason every time I try to attatch pic is says Invalid File error

There you go. Loving the aggressive as **** flares and vents. The new headlights/front fascia is very welcome, too.

I heard 550hp, I hope they reduced weight for this one else it's pointless.

Saw this in the new TG magazine. I think the extra vents and ducts look a bit too overdone, and the spoiler is blatently copied from a GT-R. They kinda spoil the smooth lines of the XKR.

Will be insanely fast though! 👍

As powerful as it is, I'm still quite fond of the 2009 model. Sad that the US didn't get it & probably won't receive this one, either.

I agree - the new ones lacks the critical Jaguar flow of line - not nearly as elegant as he '09 model. Space, Pace, & Grace - the new one only has the first two!:sly: Not ugly by any means, but a shape like the original was not meant, in my opinion, to be perforated with vents and spoilers and the like - it loses its natural flow...

On the looks, I think it looks like something that could come out of Australia. At least the re-styling looks like something that would come from Oz.

I saw this and the Aston Virage on the same page on Autoblog a few days ago. Between the two, I'll pick the Aston anyday. The Aston just looks much prettier. The XKR-S has too many scoops and holes and stuff in the front and a questionable-looking wing in the back. The car doesn't look bad overall, but it doesn't have the elegance of a GT tourer. If they could have stuffed that engine and the suspension upgrades in the XKR that McLaren showed instead...

Remember, that this is the XKR-S model. A normal model with less scoops, and minus a wing will be shown at Geneva aswell.

This has me way more excited than the "yet-another-DB-variation" Virage from Aston, as lovely as that one looks. Slight nip-and-tuck up front looks good too. Yeah, it's kind of boy-racer, but I can look past that :D

I still prefer the looks of the 2009 model to the 2011... In my opinion, they haven't get into the teritory of ''overdone'' but more to ''trying a little too hard'' though it may sound the same.

I dunno, it may now have guts to run with an Aston(The weight figures weren't on the ultimatecarpage.com tech sheet) but, it just lost the subtle elegance of the normal model. Should be heck fast, though.

Yeah, I think if I had that kind of money to blow on a car I'd be looking more for elegance and refinement than brutal, pavement shredding performance. Being a Jag, it won't fail at that, but I think the '06-'10 model accomplished that better.

But a Jaguar vs. Aston-Martin battle would almost be too much to bear - I'd end up with two winning cars!:sly: I don't know I'd be able to choose - they both embody everything a car ought to be...

Also in the "overdone" camp. It seems that designers in charge of Jaguars, Astons, and Land/Range Rovers have a habit of starting with a sexy, elegant design and then proceeding to ruin them with scoops, vents, slashes, and other poorly placed styling elements.

I swear I saw one of these coming off the motorway about 3 months ago, the front bumper was definitely the same, as was the wheels. Are they out yet? It was monstrously loud. Would make sense if it were, the Jag factory is only down the road from my house.

The brand new Jaguar XKR-S convertible roared to life, delighting participants of the current Los Angeles Auto Show. That's just one week after the automobile was announced by the automaker. Collectors are certain to covet this drop-top version of Jag's quickest and most effective model. Its high price tag puts it out of league for most people, and only 25 will be delivered to the U.S. Article resource: New Jaguar XKR-S convertible roars out from Los Angeles Auto Show

Another sold-out Jaguar model. They do make desirable cars lately...
