Was the pricing and release date for the regular one even given out yet, or am I missing something?

So far all we have on the regular ST is summer 2012 in UK and Late 2012 for the US market.

The normal one's price, the number $25,000, $26,000 and $27,000 were throwen around on some auto blogs. But not comfirmed. I hope ater Detroit auto show, next year, we will know :)

The Focus ST-R is a different animal, which is why it was available to order before the normal ST. Technically with a quarter 4 delivery, its still on par with the normal ST's release.

Woah. Looks pretty mean...

I want details on a new RS though.

The RS500 was released to Europe only. http://focusrs500.com/

With a car like that, who needs a radio?:)

Nice to see Ford doing stuff like this again.

Yeah I don't think you want to be listening to Rihanna and going 150 on a track... 💡

Yes, It very nice to see Ford expand their product lines like this.

Radio: Oh na na, what's my name?

Driver: Oh 🤬!

Car hits the wall...

Out all the American manufacturers, Ford is by far the best looking and best built (IMO) of the big three. GMs still feel like bargain bin stuff.

I sat in a ZR1 at my doctor's house, and the interior trimming felt cheap, like it was an after thought.

I know the Corvette is all about the drive, but you drive the car from the inside, don't you?

If a car is over 100000, I expect the plastics to be few and far between, and much more sturdier wherever it is applied.

Almost $100,000 for a Ford Focus of any variety sounds a bit steep to me... I could think of better automotive endeavors for $100,000, but to each their own.

Its a ST-r which a totally different focus. Different engine, and race ready. However, 100k is a lot for a car with a roll cage.

Worth it just for a new Focus without the ridiculous jaw-jamming toothpicks that separate the grille and air-ducts.

It's barely a Focus. It's a race car with a Focus's name, and has the same body shape.

Try finding a brand new, turnkey, no, you DON'T have to strip it out or do any welding, racing car faster than this one for under $100K.

$100,000 is good money for a brand new, turnkey racecar built to touring car series specs. Building it yourself would cost more.

If the price seems steep, you could buy secondhand. If I remember right, teams sell off their old cars for around $20k (if it's an old chassis but built for the current rules) or higher.

The question is how competitive they'll be. Aside from selling customer cars, Ford ought to have at least one factory team per series, or a partner team that will run their chassis at the front of the series to build up interest.

I think some people are missing the point here. Its a race car, regardless of the name on the car. Just because it says Ford and Focus does not mean it won't be a good car. :)
