With the racing starting at 11am tomorrow, I thought it was about time to start this thread.

It's looking to be another exciting year, with the two Dunlops setting a scorching pace in qualifying for the Supersport class. Cam Donald and wildman Guy Martin are right up there, and a rider very local to me, Dan Cooper, placing well too.

Hoping to see a two or three-way battle between the fastest qualifiers in the Sidecars, with Gary Bryan and Jamie Winn being the fastest. Dave Molyneux and Patrick Farrance are not far behind and, of course, never write off the Birchall brothers despite them trailing a little and placing 4th in qualifiying.

Never one to disappoint, the Superbike qualifying sees the top 5 riders within 20 seconds of each other, with McGuinness placing 7th. Will John further add to his already impressive 17 TT wins?

My mom and dad are setting off aboard the Triumph Sprint ST tomorrow while I watch the highlights :(
It looks set to be another brilliant year, hoping Guy Martin gets that monkey off his back.

Lucky parents, wish I had time to get over there and watch it.

Is McGuinness human? 18 TT wins with more races to come. Whut.

Congrats to John McGuinness! Loving watching the highlights on ITV4, shame they can't be longer and more in depth. Shame for Guy Martin that he didn't manage the podium.
Looking forward to the rest of the week!

Last year's coverage was pretty good, however this year the TT only gets a couple of hours each evening as the tennis is on all day.

Just watching the sidecar highlights, I can't believe the huge balls the passenger must have to be doing that, just balancing on that tiny plate at the back holding on to sod all while going that fast.

Still wish they had karting there though.

That second video is the one that I always show people. Insane through the streets.
After doing a motorcycle race, my respect for these guys has greatly increased.
It is absolutely incredible at how fast they go, I might go see the Ulster this year, and that's faster. :scared:

I've seen tose before. I wish they still ran karts there too. Did they just run them on a shorter course through the town?

And I can't find any Isle Of Man coverage this year even though the Velocity channel says that their covering it. It was on all last year here.

I was watching highlights of this on ITV4 and although I'm by no means a fan of motorbike racing in general, it was just unbelievable. These guys are half heroes, half lunatics; watching them speed through the towns past lampposts, walls, kerbs and railings...just wow.

^You really need to buy and watch this on Blu-ray then:

One of the best blu-rays I own.

One of the best blu-rays I own.

Absolutely.

Such a pity to see Ian Hutchinson a shadow of himself on that triumphant weekend in 2010, after his awful accident later that same year.

After his awful accident later that same year.

:odd: That sentence makes no sense.

Back on topic, I saw a while back when ITV did a programme on Guy Martin basicly talking about the film at his riding. It just showed how much passion is in the TT, there is little money involved it is all about who is the best, not necessarily the best/newest/most expensive bike, pure motorsport.

Unfortunately the senior tt was cancelled for the first time in history. Yesterday it postponed due to rain, then today the mountain was still wet and the teams were all due to leave so no big race this year :(

Have a look at this epic pic my mom took while she was over there :)

"after what happened later that same year"

How can the cause of the event be something that happened later (as in yet to happen at the time of the event).

^It was the earlier part of his sentence which wasn't worded great, but he meant he was a shadow of himself this year. In 2010 he was triumphant at the TT but had an accident at Silverstone later in 2010.
