I was thinking about recreating all of the major races that will be run on next year's motorsports calendar on GT5.
- This will be a compilation of real-life races forming a gigantic series. Each real-life race will take place either one, two, or three days before the real race, so the Daytona 500 will be held on either the Saturday, Friday, or Thursday before the real thing. This allows everyone to race in the video game counterpart while also allowing everyone to watch the actual race on the day of it's event.
- In the case of a race 4 hours or longer, the hours will be converted into laps, with longer race's (such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans) laps being multiplied by two, while the shorter race's (such as the 4 Hours of Nurburgring) laps being multiplied by four.
- As most motorsports have different points systems, there will only be one points system (I am yet to decide what points system will be used). A universal points system would prevent confusion as well as making every race count (so a NASCAR race would have as much impact as an F1 race).
- You will not be forced to enter all events. It is your discretion to enter a race event or not. However, you will be encouraged to race in as many events as possible.
- At the end of the year, the driver with the most points will win a $20 PSN card, and claim the title of "2013 Racing Champion".
I do have a couple of questions to ask you guys:
- I will not be able to host all events. It would be too much to handle as this series is year-round, and with the enormous number and length of races. Would anybody else mind hosting some of the races?
- Some races may conflict with each other. Should I hold them on the same day, but at separate times, should I get others to host the other races on the same day, or perhaps run one race per day?
- Is this a good idea? It runs the entire year, which might be too much for a single "series".
