According to Turn 10's YouTube page. (Yes, I know this has been mentioned in the 'Latest News and Discussion' thread ... just bringing it to its own thread)

So, there is something to look forward to following the Porsche expansion afterall. What do you guys think of the new Viper?

Beautiful cars. I assume we'll be getting both.

I can't wait to paint that up in classic Oreca livery. Oh hell yes...

Oh that is a sexy, sexy shape. Looks like it might be Autovista bound, too.

'Tis on the News page, folks.

Took me longer than usual but it's there! :p

Can't wait to see it in the flesh at the NY auto show, hopefully going on Saturday. Looks great!

By the way, in case you're wondering, that FM4 Racing Livery....will be SRT's ALMS racing car...so it IS a real race car...that you'll get to race in FM4 before it hits the actual race track.

EDIT: the interior shots hint at an new AutoVista car.

Does this mean that setups that work for the SRT race car in Forza will work in real-life?

This is great, I've had a lot of fun driving the current Vipers in game so having another is even better. I think this is one of the best looking cars I've seen, especially the back of it. I really like the front of it aswell although I've heard mixed feelings from a lot of people but I guess it can't please everyone.

I know it's still (1-3 months, just a guesstimate here) too early, but if you go on my SF, I've got a GTS-R emblem made up for livery-making folks for when the new Viper lands in Forza.

Is the Viper going to be free, like the Hyundai DLC? Seems like DLC that's used by the car manufacturer to advertise their cars, as Hyundai did, is free, and this would certainly be pretty similar. Follows the same patern of a single car that comes with AutoVista, at least.

Well, if it's free it could come with the racing version included, just like the Veloster had the rallycross version included.

Also, GODDAMN now that's what I call a Viper.

I would think so.

I don't think this will be handled the same way as the Veloster. I could be wrong, though. It is my honest belief that this will be handled in a manner similar to the 458 Italia, the Hot Holidays Car Pack, and Forza 3. Key word being similar. What I'm trying to say is that this car may be part of a larger DLC pack. :/

suck it GT5 forza got it first ha

Guys, the Forza vs. GT thread is over here.

I can definitely see where you are coming from. The Viper has to be one of the more desirable cars this year, with a potential to move much more DLC packs than the Veloster would have done. Adding it to a DLC pack would assure some nice sales, especially if it was part of one of the first DLC packs to come out after the season pass runs out.

Giving it away for free just seems like a rather poor deal for T10 and MS, from a business point of view. On the other hand, giving something nice to us for free for a change could be a good move, too. With customer satisfaction and so on. It might also help to convince a few people to return to FM4 after dropping it, if such a car was awaiting them, for free.

Oh well, guess we'll find out soon enough.

Turn 10 has at least 2 things wrong with their in-game model...but its still going to be GREAT to get this car in the game...can't wait!

Can you elaborate? I don't really see anything, but then again I'm not really looking that hard either :sly:

fairly minor stuff but...

1. the rear panel around the lights should be exposed carbon fiber...its not in the Forza render...no matter what angle you look at the rear of the car you cant see the weave in that large upper section...but in the lower "diffuser" section of the Forza model it can be seen...

obviously not a deal breaker by any stretch, but certainly an oversight unless the carbon fiber was a late addition for the production car made after the Forza modeling was done

2. the reverse lights are down at the bottom of the rear bumper...not so in the Forza car (this is obviously very minor)...

The Forza render could easily have occurred before changes were made by SRT to the finished production model.

agreed completely...was just pointing it out...im a Viper fanatic, have been since i saw my first Rt/10 roadster in 1992 so i get picky...

Turn 10 has a history of wonky problems with the Viper...in their games...having the Oreca Viper GTS-R listed as a 6.7L V8 instead of the 8.0L V10...

and ya ever try to paint ACCURATE Stripes on the old GTS they include in the game?...

The VLN Vipers ran a V8....
