2014 Final Participation Numbers?

Any idea just how many people ran each round? Knowing what place I'm in is only cool if I know how many people tried, because its in the many thousands.

Here are my places:

109k for round 1, got gold
77k for round 2, got silver
68k for round 3, got silver
48k for round 4, got silver

Here is the most updated world rankings I could find.
Round 1- As of 3:30 pm ET today(4/30/14 19:30UTC), there are 174,561 entries
Round 2- 148708 entries as of 10:32 pm eastern. (02:32 UTC 5/20/14)
Round 3- As of June 1, 2014 at 9:18 p.m Eastern there are 93216 entries total.
Round 4- 11,627 for USA 105,871 global.

though they seem a bit old, it may be accurate, if someone finds more recent info, let me know here.

Gold on rounds 1 and 4, can't remember for round 2 (at least silver I know), round 3 was very difficult for me, I just got a bronze just so I could move on.
 
Gold on all four rounds.

Didn't try for the top 40, because there's no way I would've had enough opportunity to practice to be competitive at that level. =p DS3 controller, and a 40 hour workweek (plus wife, plus kids, plus...)

There were a couple guys on another forum I visit that would use an alt account and run a really slow lap so they'd be towards the bottom of the leaderboard. They'd scroll all the way to the bottom and post the numbers.

No idea for AUS, sorry.
 
On Saturday I think I saw about 2200 times posted in Canada. Managed gold on all of them, but didn't really push hard until round 4. Finished 37th in Canada there, but only have 5 days to try it. I wish I had more time as I was pushing a pace that could get me in the top 20. Had several first splits that were actually faster than the top regional time. Hope for a stronger push next time around.

450,000 from USA last year, and 11,000 this year? My god, maybe I should have waited a year lol. Sure seems this was the year to have a shot!

Considering there was only 262,000 worldwide entries last year, I think your numbers are a bit off :)

Remember in previous years it was free download to anyone with a PS3 this year you had to have a copy of GT6. Also I think a lot of people have realized they had no real shot so did not bother.

Was said last year that there were 1.3 million so your right there! But I'm not sure how those numbers were calculated!
 
I ran 4'20 laps at each round to get total participation numbers. :cool:

Round 1 world total 400,000
total golds 105,000

Round 2 world total 250,000
total golds 40,000

Round 3 world total 135,000
total golds 35,000

Round 4 world total 93,000
USA total 10,000

These numbers are from last Wednesday and are rounded off, but they're pretty close. 👍
