The new GT2 is expected to be powered by a 3.8-liter, six-cylinder of some sort with 560 to 570 hp sent to the ground through a seven-speed, dual-clutch transmission. It will be the fastest production 911 in Porsche’s history with the automaker hoping to travel to 62 mph in less than 3 second with a top speed over 200 mph.

I don't see anything there regarding the 2014 Porsche 911 GT2 but okay...if some mod wants to redirect my post to that topic feel free to do it.

Yes  The GT2 is going to be epic. That's a car that I might actually take with a PDK, simply because of the insane power and track ability.

They're hoping, they're hoping the 0-60 time is going to be less than 3 seconds. What if they don't?

There's been some rumors that while this is more than likely the GT2, that it could also very well be a GT3 RS in disguise due to some of the design cues shared with the past RS mules.

However, those large intakes on the sides are a well known staple of the GT2.

If it is the GT-2, I hope they make it more characterful sounding than the 997 car, which sounded like...well...nothing actually. The GT-2 embodies the soul of the 935 and 934, wouldn't it be great if it sounded like those as well? While the RSR-type Porsches (yesterday's GT-3s) were more high pitched and, for lack of a better term, shrieky, the 935 always sounded sulking, viscous, and relentless with the embellishment of the frantic turbo noises. Bring that sound back Porsche, even if it's not actually race-car loud, but give the car some damn character.

For reference:

By that I meant that don't they usually give the Turbo some time on the market, on sale, to establish a solid foothold before introducing more extreme GT2 which probably catches the eye of more wealthy buyers?

The GT2 isn't expected to be unveiled until Geneva next year & then on sale in the summer/fall of 2014 which gives the Turbo a full year.
