Looks like......a mini Altima. Imagine that. :ouch:

Edit: Or you can see the whole car here:

I love Nissan but they really need to cut it out teasing their run of the mill cars

They also need to quit making all their cars look exactly the same.
Brand identity UGH. The point is to make people recognize it immediately as a Nissan, or an Audi, or a whatever. If Nissan didn't make all their cars look like Nissans then you'd bitch that they looked like a Dodge or a Ferrari or something stupid.

I take it since this car is an international platform, there isn't going to be an SE-R this time around?

Who doesn't anymore? Anything on four wheels will get compared to something else. I don't mind if they have some similar touches, but copying the same design across 2-3 cars is stupid.

I don't think they'll kill the SE-R, but I would like to see them actually put some effort into making it good this time around. What should have happened with the current car is that we should have got the Azeal concept as the SE-R:

Define "similar touches". They both have four doors? They're both 3-box sedans? They both have two headlights and two tail lights? Four wheels? Both debuted in silver? That's what they have in common, and its enough to make you say they're exactly the same, while everybody else claims it looks like a Diablo.

My way, all cars from a particular manufacturer share a distinct design language, and none of them look like they're from any other manufacturer.

Your way, none of the cars from a particular manufacturer share any distinct design language beyond what is necessary to define their market segment, and everybody complains that all this company's cars look like they came from that other company and vice versa.

That Sentra looks pretty nice, except, well, it's been mentioned multiple times in this thread, looks like a Mini Altima. Looking at it again, it also looks like a squeezed Maxima. Would Nissan still offer the engines that they offer in the current model Sentras?

I disagree. When the versa came out, I feared all new nissans will follow in the design. Thankfully it seems the versa sedan was just a feeler for them and thankfully it felt like ****.

Nissan needs to ditch the Renault-ness and head back to a 90s inspiration.

I agree with swara, looks like a squeezed Maxima.

Keef is also right, brand indentity. It has always been like this and should be like this. The manu. not using brand indentity has a hodge-podge of cars. Mainly US brands a few years ago.

If you call brand identity making them all look exactly the same, then sure why not. In my opinion the Sentra died after 2001 anyway.

Yeah I always have trouble distinguishing between the GT-R the Micra and the Altima:dopey:

If Dodge can create a proper Neon successor some 13 years after the original had long since passed, Nissan could do the same with a modern Sentra.

A what? Oh, oh, I see. You mean an economy car. If Dodge can make a decent economy car 13 years after it made its last decent economy car...

I'd say the Dart is definitely a step in the right direction. It has the right look, its definitely the right size, and the Italian roots will definitely help to have the sportiness of the original.

We'll see what the sub-Dart vehicle ends up being. Well, if they do one anyway.

It looks exactly like the new Altima, just smaller.

It does look like an Altima a bit... but man, I love that color.

Uhhh, where have you guys been all these years?

The movie was obviously trying to avoid the horrible contour running from the fender to the quarter panel; I'd say they went just a bit too far with that one. Maybe a final production vehicle on the road will be more subtle?
Not really excited about anything here, just another avant-garde econobox sculpted down to a production model resembling other nissans with one funky line down the side.

I will admit though, the video did a great job of showing details in the design that look good but I don't think anything will save the overall look from the long fender to quarter panel line. :indiff:

btw, the last Altima SE-R pictured in red above by disinfected has always been a favorite altima of mine (even if that's not the se-r, its that generation's se-r I liked so much :) ).

I love it when entry level cars include cursory styling features from other, better vehicles. "Look, my economy car as LED DRLs! You know I've made it." And cool. Now you get even less power but are still forced put up with Nissan's CVT unless you get a stripper model!

At least it is lighter, and it does look better than the last one (inside).
