2022 Touring Car Discussion Thread - TCR, BTCC, etc.Touring Cars

A couple more BTCC announcements from the last couple of days:

PMR have acquired the services of Árón Taylor-Smith, as he switches from Team HARD.

Also, EXCELR8 yesterday revealed their new liveries for Chilton and Ingram's Hyundai's, and they really pop. I'm liking it a lot. (Livery reveal was quite funny too )

Mikey Doble makes his BTCC debut for 2023, as PMR sign their second rookie (the other being Andrew Watson). Which completes their 3 car lineup.

Yesterday WSR also revealed their liveries for the season ahead. Not the best of liveries, but by no means the worst, just 'meh' I suppose 🤷‍♂️. Never quite sure if WSR BMW's looked better in all black based liveries, or the more usual white M-sport colours.

Aside from that though, it would be great to see Morgan mount a title challenge this year (that's no disrespect to his years at Ciceley), I rate him as a very solid driver these days. Wouldn't discount Jelley either.

Going back to car/livery reveals, the next one I'm interested in are the Team Dynamics Hondas :D. Given Rowbottoms departure there's potential for shakeup in their driver line-up too.

Sad to see this. One of the top teams in BTCC history, will be strange to not see them on the grid. They will still support One Motorsport (formerly BTC Racing) in the championship and build classic and GT cars and customer vehicles globally.

Very sad to see indeed, given the succes they've helped bring Honda as a manufacturer in the BTCC. Hopefully it's not a lengthy hiatus 🤞. In any case, the added support for One Motorsport could be useful in finally enabling an overall title challenge.

Also, in other recent BTCC news Speedworks-Toyota have revealed their 3 car lineup with Collard, Butcher and Gamble set to drive for them in 2023:

Jade Edwards has also made the switch to Team HARD, and will race one of the Cupra's this season. Good to see she remains on the grid as a full season entry 👍 .

Yeah hopefully One can do some good with those resources, they've always been hovering around the top and maybe this can give them that little shove. Nice to see Toyota go to a 3 car team as well.

No Shedden then, at least Gamble found another team after Ciceley's departure, surprised but glad to see Collard continue. Must be one of the shortest retirements of recent times.
