Alonso is set to compete in the Dakar Rally with Prodrive / Aston Martin.
He will drive one of the Dacia Sandriders built by Prodrive, re-bodied to feature the silhouette of an Aston Martin.
His co-driver will be Marc Coma.
It is known now that David Richards has at least two former Dacia vehicles that will be given an Aston Martin appearance.
What remains unclear is whether the Dakar Rally will take place in Saudi Arabia.
If it does not go ahead there, the alternative is to hold it in Morocco.
