Hey me and my friend are trying to get a best lap on monaco.

We have set each other a 20,000 limit which includes buying a car, but only forom the used car places.

i have opted for an rx7 type rs (fd-J). what kind of mods do you all think i should go for??

here's what i did....

20000
6386 - Car
6336 - Oil
5136 - Weight 1
2236 - Semi Racing Exhaust
736 - Racing Chip
136 - Semi Racing Flywheel

which took me to ... 283Hp / 242.74ft.Ib
1146 Kgs

and a time of 1.53.159 on the first lap. anyone else think what a better route to go is, as far as car? or tuning??

thanks

im not sure if this is in the correct place, but i would have chose those mods

its been moved here by an admin guy, so i think its in the right place noww, sorry it was on the front page to start with though...

i wouldnt buy the weight
i would get a turbo upgrade, which will shave off about 5-10 seconds depending on driver 👍

But weight is about 1k-1.2k whereas the turbo is like 4.5k??

i'm on a budget here, i dont wanna go all out and buy the turbos, if i can't use the money on suspenstion/drivetrain, to get more manoverabilty out of the car. Getting 'bang for buck' as it were :indiff:

I shall have a go at this

this could be a good challenge ála the budget projects in Top Gear....ill also have a go at it

I got a 1'55 in a Nissan Fairlady Z from the 80's lot.

Racing Intercooler
Turbo stage 1
Racing Chip
Oil Change

Yes, i'm thinking big torque rwd cars are best, 4wd is far to heavy for slugging the corners round, and FF is too slow for the twisties i feel.

i got a 1.56 in my fairlady with that, but weight and exhaust instead of turbo.

I got a 1.52 in the rx-7 though today

cheers!

I'll have to try again...

Nissan Skyline GT-R N1 '91 - 15'067
Oil Change - 50
Stage 1 Weight Reduction - 1,200
Racing Intercooler - 3,000

Total Price - 19,317

Lap Time - 1'51.765

ok, just did it really quickly:

-1995 Mazda RX-7 R-S (FD-J) 13,614cr
-Racing Chip 1,500cr
-Stage 1 Turbine 4,800cr
-Oil Change 50cr
Total Spent: 19,964cr
Spare Change: 36cr

only did three laps, best was the second with a time of:
1'54.018

definatly capable of 1'53s or even 1'52s if i sat down and pressed for fast laps....ill try again later on, but first i need some more cash...im down to 25,000cr total :scared:

EDIT: had another go, down to 1'52.523

Whaaa!? where did you find the gt-r n1 for 15k?? and dont say the early 90's place, lol.

i can only find this car for over 21K !!

The early 90's place

tried again:

1989 Nissan 300ZX 2seater - 13,824cr.
Stage 1 Turbo - 4,800cr.
Stage 1 Weight redux. - 1,200cr
oil change - 50cr
total - 19,874
spare change 126cr.

time: 1'52.272
definatly has more in it....

EDIT: squeezed it down to a 1'51.944 and i still think theres more in it

i made a 1.50.824 with the rx-7. come on, wimps, lol

lol, im still working on literally 3 other preject/challenges at the same time, so ill get back on my RX-7/300ZX later.......

6386 - Car
6336 - Oil
5136 - Weight 1
2236 - Semi Racing Exhaust
736 - Racing Chip
136 - Semi Racing Flywheel

Does it make sense now? quite frankly, that's over 20K too.

here's how it's done:
'97 Camaro Z28 - 8438
Wing - 1200
Oil - 50
Stage 1 Weight - 1200
semi-racing flywheel - 600
Sports Suspension - 3200
NOS - 5000

Time 1:41.896

Replace NOS with NA Stage 1
Time 1:45.185

i'm trying a new approach here. Very cheap car. BIG turbo :D

results soon.

What about R1 tires for 10 large? At Monaco that might make quite a difference. And I would go clutch before flywheel - typically speeds up the shifts quite a bit.
