Hello guys just looking on the Gran turismo website(uk) at the new dlc track and I noticed in the picture they have 30million? Makes me wonder.

look at the pictures at the bottom

That's because it is a Japenese version of the game and the currencies are different. For the UK and US it's 20,000,000 but in Japan it's 200,000,000.

Also please search next time

ah right I see looked a little odd to me.

thanks!

Has anybody actually tried to earn more than 20mil yet? Maybe it's just me, but that 30mil number seems a little too neat. Couldn't it be a screenshot of a developer/beta tester account that has hit a new 30mil limit?

On the screenshot I saw earlier today, I saw the date was '20'... So IMHO, it was a fake screenshot.

I can confirm last night after the update, I bounced right off that 20 mil limit. So it is in fact, still there.

That 30 mil is just in Yen as far as I know.

That's what I think as well. :D:tup:

It would be just too strange to get exactly 30.000.000 Cr., when he plays on a Japanese game version where the limit is at 200.000.000 (?) (Cr., Yen, potatoes, ...). Looks really fishy. :sly:

Yeah, I've bounced off that 20Mil limit more times than I'd like to think about. I can't imagine how many credits I've lost in the persuit of a 20 mil car. I just finished buying all of the colors of X1 and I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have that issue anymore! I do wish they'd change it though.

It would be hard to change the limit with a trophy tied to it.
What would happen to all the people that already got the trophy if they changed the limit.

Yeah, whats wrong with a trophy for getting 20mil even if they raise the limit? Although, then it wouldnt be as easy to spend it all. Cap should be doubled, that would probably be the best solution. Then buy two 20 mil cars to spend it all.

20th of December, anyone? I don't think they take the screenshots on the same day as they release the content.

Also, to have exactly 30 million credits is not that hard if you're the software developer. They probably have a software development tool that allows them to just enter any number in the cash field to get what they want, I doubt they have to grind the cash if they want to get some credits.

The limit is still 20million. Checked this last Night when update finished. Had 17mill. Used a Bobs bank roll that was at 3.1mill. This should of put me at 20.1 mill. However like before it caps at 20m.

Was so hoping to sit on 30m. With each bob. I could have 210m banked versus 140m. LoL actually have not made it past 50 mill banked obvious including Bobs.

Why do you lose any credits when all it takes is some basic maths and a small amount of planning? For example, last week i was doing the online B-spec seasonal at Le Sarthe with a 200% log in bonus meaning that i would take 6,000,000 for a win. I knew i would win as i had repeated the race several times without any failure. My credits were sitting around the 14,500,000 mark so i could have easily ditched half a million but instead i chose to purchase multiple tyre sets, turbos, filters, exhausts and so forth as these will always be used on future purchases. Calculate it carefuly and you'll end up losing hardly anything. I lost 4 credits. Hardly worth getting frustrated about! Then to ensure i havn't got to start on 0 credits i make sure my B-spec drivers have a few credits stored. Cash in 1 or 2 of the drivers winnings and again the 200% bonus kicks in. Straight away i'm back to a million+ without lifting a finger.

I'd wager it's a Development Test Copy of GT5 (probably Kaz's, because Amar mentioned Kaz has an affinity for French Wines, hence the user name Merlot).

Since it's a test copy, I would assume PD programmers can arbitrary set ANY amount and turn on any features they are testing in the game. Kind of like cheat codes for games we find in the wild, which were once used during development testing.

C'mon, Japanese Currency !? :D But I stand corrected.

I really believe that this is a limit increase for a future version that they are already testing. Those who believe that is a fake picture because it says '20' in the date are totally retarded. They are testing stuff before they give it to us.
Or also they can tweak as they want their own engine for their personal developer use.(if not)
People still believe that they make things in one day and then release it for the next day...lol
They have more content for us already. But they need to test it before and make more for a DLC package and future update with more than a couple of fixes. Time to time.
Again i feel that they are going to increase the credits limit in the game. We asked for it remember?

I actually don't think it is the Japanese version.

If it was, the circle button would be the confirm button. Japanese PS3 games seem to do this in some games, especially GT.

I'd like to say aswell that the in game money should be the same anywhere around the world despite currency diffrence's since it is in game "credits" .

The trophy is given at 10 million, not 20 million.

Yeah, I remember getting the Multimillionaire Trophy fairly early. A lot of people that miss the Penniless Trophy at the start of the game (myself included) where you spend every credit you have to get the trophy can get it after reaching $20,000,000 and buying a car worth that much, or spending the $20,000,000 down to $0 (i.e. New Car shopping spree).

Jai
Even so, I'm sure PD have the tools to edit the amount of money they would like..
Probably no need - if the limit is higher in Japan, there's probably a race or 2 you can win to get straight to 30 mil. I'm guessing costs, prizes etc are all x 10 compared to other regions, probably because Yen seems to be an order of magnitud higher than most other currencies (except Zimbabwe...)

As for the limit, all that it would mean for me is that I wouldn't feel obliged to keep buying cars I'll never drive every time I come up to the 20 mil limit. Somehow it feels wrong to play when you know all the cr. you win will disappear into a black hole, so I always make sure I've got less than 20. Wonder how much xp I'd have by now if that didn't stop at L40...

Ding ding ding! That's exactly what it is! Admin copy guys, probably not even on a PS3...

I couldn't stand it either for it to disappear into a black hole, but to keep buying cars only works for so long. Then you're actually getting more concerned with a different limit. I ran, once again, into both limits today, the 2000 car limit, and then the 7000 item limit. Compared to those, the $20M credit limit is nothing. :grumpy:
