I've been wondering for a while it would be possible to win the 24 Heures Du Mans A-spec event with one of the historic race cars (Ford GT MKIV, Ferrari P4, Jaguar XJ13, Chaparral 2D, Corvette ZO6 C2 GT40 MK1 etc.) stock without added turbos and on racing Hard tyres.

Also please don't say the Chaparral 2J could win it as I have no interest in using this car- I'd like to use my Ford GT MKIV for the event but am interested to see whether it can contend.

Thanks in advance. :)

You could certainly give it a go :). It would make the race a great challenge for you. I would certainly be interested to see how you go. Add me on PSN and if you do this let me know how you go. Might have 100 friends, I will delete someone. The race is all about staying focused if you use an LMP, if you use this car or the other classics it might make it about the driving aswell.

I won't be able to try it until a Holiday/gap in the racing series I'm in, but I'll post up results if I do try. 👍

Good luck mate :) Wish you all the best

Given handling is not that much of an issue on the Sarthe circuit you should be OK with the Chap' D and Ford MkIV, although you may need to add all the boost you can get.
I've done it with the Ford.
The Jaguar, I think, wouldn't be fast enough, even boosted as far as you can. But I haven't tried it so am guessing.

I don't want to add turbos to be honest. I'd like to know if it can be done standard. :)

Best way to find out is go start the race and run for a dozen laps or so inc pitting, this will give you an idea wether you will be able to be competive. I would also suggest you do this short tes at night because the AI dont slow or fatique like you will.

All the best.

Edit : No turbo's !! Hmm, I dont think you will stand a chance even with superb hadling skills Le_sarthe does demand some serious power/speed on the straits.
