24 Hour of Le Mans - Fire Works?

2nd time at this in A-Spec. First time it started to rain at hour 2 or 4 and it never stopped...cant recall the time frame as it was so many full moons ago. This time, it started to drizzel at hour 2 and stopped before hour 3 started. So that has not been an issue this time around.

The issue is at the near end of hour 5? Where the sun is fully gone into the west, PD decides to put up some fire works. Pretty cool I thought for a few laps :D... Now it has been nearly an hour and it wont stop! Getting annoyed to the point I am missing my braking point near the pit entrance and getting distracted. Distracted I ran an extra lap by mistake on used up tires so that hurt me bad.

So does the fire work display ever stop? :ouch:

I don't think so. My cuz and I were doing this race at the same time, and I was suffering thru the rain in 787 while he described (we were chatting via telephone) the pretty fireworks EVERY FREAKIN NIGHTTIME LAP it seemed lol

I cant remember. I did that race back in 2011 i was asking myself that to.
 
Odd. I dont recall fire works the 1st time around though. Only the nasty rain that would not ever stop!

:lol: I see a trend. Cats and Dogs falling or the heaven's falling from the sky.

Jeez... Maybe if I just save and continue tomorrow it will be full rain (freaking PD :nervous: )

Doing the 24hr races are a pain in the butt.

My tussssh is fine :p , but my right knee is going to hate me :ouch:. I have to keep taking breaks every pit stop = 10 laps.

Le Mans is not so bad this time around = no rain. A punky Pescarolo (not sure which one) is putting up a great fight! Even with 3:27 to 3:31 laps it is taking forever to put him a lap down!

Waiting for LVL 40...Nurburgring was fun!

Do it in the seat an using a wheel nonstop for 24 hours with just a couple pee breaks.
 
It finishes around hours 7-8 hours in.
 
Yep, and about that Pescarolo, he should be doing 10 laps at the most, so if you can do 11, you don't have to worry about his speed.

I'm doing this race again for like the seventh time I think. Doing it in a Bentley Speed 8. Currently about 3 hours in, and 2 laps ahead of Audi R8.
 
Not to worry if I stop making mistakes... Took 5 hours to put him a lap down. Just trying to build a cushion before I save.

Not sure if the bug was fixed or not. Last time I started the raced it was 100% dry and the rain came a FEW hours after. It was not 100% wet before I saved a few laps after the rain started. But, when I logged back in, it was 100% wet. Just remember tyres being an issue and losing laps till Sports Soft was the odd trick to get me going till the end.

Crossing fingers.
 
Wow...I thought my BMW V12 was overkill :p

They just put them their to distract you.

For me it stopped at the start of hour 8. Must of been all the alcohol that got me short fused with the light show.

Also the save seems fixed. No rain when I rejoined the progress and # 2 is now is 2 laps down at hour 8.
 
I am 18 hours into this race, with 6 to go driving the Sauber MB C9 and am up 2 laps. The Pescarolo C60 Hybride is in second followed by the Bentley and the BMW V12.

I just can't do more than 2-3 hours a day, my butt and knees wear out, so I've still got a couple of days to go. Thankfully it's been totally dry so far. The fireworks popped for around 2 hours, then quit.

After this the only race left is the Nurburgring 24 hour, which I am not looking forward to. Too bad these races can't be shortened to 6 hours or so, as that's probably as much as any individual driver does in the real ones.

Oh well, can't wait to finish so I can do last Thursdays seasonal.
 
Yeah my knee is not like it used to be. The Nurburgring is actually funner as you dont have very long boring straights lap after lap. The scenic view helps, but that is distracting too :p

Hopefully I can finish mine by this coming Wednesday.

Just saying, unless you HAVE to feel you at least gave the AI a chance, you get to rest at least 4 hours doing Nurb 24 in an xbull.....and if you've read any threads on here on the seasonals, the Toyota 2000 GT '70(?) ROCKS the cart track at the end

Thanks, I've given that some thought. And I will definately try the 2000 GT.
 
Just a quick note. There is a huge difference between driving in the wet or dry in regards with the fun factor. First time in the rain, it was just painful. This time around in the dry and see-ing the time change, brightness of the sun, sky and surrounding is plain fun.

Cant understand what PD would put anyone through the wet for an entire race! Could be a quick turn off, but glad I had a second go at it. Only 5.5 hours left!
 
Figured this was the best place to ask this. Can you save or suspend the 24 hour races in A spec? Im only a level 29 so I haven't done the 24 hours yet. Just curious. I have read answers that say yes and no. Just want to know if I am devoting 4 or 5 days to my PS3 being on and in GT 5 mode only. Thanks guys.
 
Yes just pull in for a pit stop and select suspend.

No, I am currently running the Indy 500 and I have suspended it twice. The suspend function should work on all Endurance races.
