Don't remember the competition anymore, I used a turbo upgraded, w/ R1 rear R2 Front. Just try, and if you can pit approximatly as the AI you'd probably make it, but i think the problem would be stock (R3) tires.

It is impossible to lose with that car.

The fastest opposition is either BMW GTR Racing Car which laps at about 7.22 or the Audi TT Touring Car.

Any LMP can win on B-spec speed of 1 which gives you the most laps per pit.

I use the black Toyota GT One with no oil change and with a twisted chassis as it is able to do 6 laps per pit.

If you are talking A-spec the minolta is overkill and you may want to try a more drivable car. JGTC Supra, any German Touring car with small hp upgrade, Skyline LM Race Car does the trick.

ok thanks, o and its not IMPOSIBLE i mean you coud a-spec and do nothing, but i know what your saying. but for the hell of it i baught the upgrades, and now it has 1,164 hp. lol i'm going to use a car thats going to make it more interesting. Thanks to who responded.

I have a question and couldn't find anything on it, but can a stock Minolta win the 24 hour race?

I Bspec'd it with the Mazda 787B with ease. So it shouldnt be a problem with the Minolta

B-spec is a reasonably close race with JGTC cars on speed setting of 3.

My B-spec driver kicked butt in a stock Supra with oil change but struggled with a stock NSX (still want to investigate why) - edit: just noticed the power weight ratio of the Audi being better than the BMW - the NSX was up against the Audi not the BMW.

Basically 500hp race cars result in a close win on 3x speed setting. When I say close I mean guaranteed ie a couple of laps.

Look at the power/weight ratios on the car list here Anything with power weight ratio better than the 2.49 of the BMW or the 2.30 of the Audi Abt TT-R Touring Car should win on a speed rating of 3. The better power/weight ratio obviously the easier the win and ratings of 2 or 1 may win and allow more laps per pit. With the Minolta you will struggle with tyre wear.

Also a slightly worse power weight ratio may win on 4 but I have found this results in spins at the end of the main straight and can result in missed pit stops.

I'm about to tackle this race, and have a couple of questions I anybody would care to comment:

1. I've heard about a pitting glitch when in B-Spec mode, is it with only with super tuned cars or what?

2. What cars do you think would fit my driving/playing style? I Like to have slightly faster lap times than the AI in A-spec mode, then have equal or slightly slower times in B-Spec to keep it interesting.

There is no pitting glitch. If your car can handle 4.1 laps on a set of tires they will be red by the time you get to the pits again. This may result in a spin near pit entrance. If he misses the pit then eh goes around for another lap - still on red tires and maybe out of fuel. If he still has fuel he may spin again. If he is being towed in by the invisible 50mph tow truck for cars with no fuel then he will enter the pits.

The way of avoiding this is any of the following:

1. Choose a tire combo that goes x.9 laps on a given speed setting so he is still on orange tires when trying to pit.
2. Adjust the speed setting to 1 from Dottinger Hohe ie where the straight has a kink left before the final chicanes and turns.
3. If tires looking close to red force a pit
4. Don't use a car with oversteer

I have found that the Mercedes CLK GTR spins, NSX JGTCs spin Speed rating does not always help
JGTC Supras, Toyota GT ONE, Pescarolos do not spin Speed rating 3

Try JGTC or German Touring Cars. The BMW GTR AI Car does 7.22 lap times.

With JGTC I have found the Supra is an easy B-Spec win on speed setting 3 but slower than them on 2. I wanted to manufacture a close finish so I left him on 3 overnight and 2 when I got up. Victory half a lap.

NSX is very tight. Have not tried other JGTC cars. Stock German Touring Cars are tight in stock form but the Audi Abt TTR in stock form with no oil change may be a perfect match - depends on bspec points etc.

1. dont be a n00b and use a class c car or a suped up race car.

I tend to agree with you. Of all the endurance races, the Nurburgring 24h is the one I most look forward to. 2nd and 3rd place are for both Le Mans races. The ones I'd want to use a minolta on are the japanese endurance tracks of which I don't care much about. I'm about to tackle the Ring 24h, and plan to use either the BMW 320i touring car tuned to 393HP(But with torque under 270ft lb. and a relatively narrower power band) or the BMW M3 GTR race car. In the 320i, I've been able to achieve under 7 minute lap times. On this thread I think someone said that the AI gets 7:22 with the M3 GTR. It just goes to show that the AI are easy to beat with less powerful cars, especially at the ring.

I'm leaning towards using my tuned 320i, I'll be able to split the race up between A-spec and B-spec, just like simulating alternating drivers. Of course my co-driver will suck when it comes to lap times, but he'll go easier on the tires. I think using the M3 GTR might get too boring too quickly. In my view though, how can you race the ring in anything other than a BMW? :)

Well I started the Nurb 24h race, with my BMW 320i Touring Car tuned to 393HP. I was able to get 3 laps outta the R2 tires I'm using, the Fronts are wearing out first. When I went into the pits after the 1st lap, I was 52 sec ahead of the only other competition on the race, which is an AUDI A4 Touring Car, pretty cool matchup. Interesting duo, considering my engine is only 2.0L (I6) and his is a 4.0L (V8). I switched to B-spec mode after first pitstop, it didn't take the A4 long to catch up and take the lead. Looks like this one's gonna take a while. :D

combine materials if the front wear out first make them the harder compound and make the back 1 compound softer. i beat it with the fto touring car and won by 2:43.

hm... i've started the 24hr race for a few times with the Opera S2000, changing nothing but the tyres, didn't even change the oil. so it was like... 274hp? would get 130 a-spec points if i win it... and i didn't have any le man cars on the field. the last time i tried, the fastest car was the falken r34 gt-r... 'coz i was using intermediate race tyres, i pit every 2 laps. :D
after 11 laps i still lead the skyline, although i did make quite a few ridiculous spin-outs...
but i've stopped after that. have to prepare for exam. heh.
