really stupid question, but:
can you set the race on standby so that you dont need to drive for 24 hours in a row?
thanks for the help

There's no standby mode other than the pause button and please use the shift key to capitalise you sentences.

It's said by kaz, that saving endurance races and continue later on will be possible in the future trough an software update.

Perhaps in the patch expected in "early" february? :sly:

The sooner the better. I've unlocked endurance races but haven't quite got to them yet, and it would be nice to have a save option by the time I get to them. Expecting people to sit there for many consecutive hours is just absurd. Even real-life endurance race drivers never do the whole thing and take turns driving the car, not to mention that in real life it's actually their job, for which they get paid, to suck it up and endure the many hours of an endurance race, while it's not our paying job for those of us doing them in a video game.

That's exactly what I have been telling everybody. Alot of people keep sayig that I'm complaining but it really is common sence, so good thinking on your part. Saving as we go would be nice but still just isn't realistic, I wann'a be able to do stints in addition to the saving.

yeah, but IRL it's pretty hard physicly too :p

What did indycars has to do with anything? Not being rude just wondering if I missed something. Indycars need to be on te game though. How can the even call their endurance race the Indy 500 when you aren't even racing against open-wheel cars, let alone Indycars. They also need to add V8 supercars and more real tracks, including making a daytona road course with time and weather changes. Then we can have more endurance events like the Daytona 500, 24 Hours of Daytona (a.k.a the Rolex 24 at Daytona), and the Indy 500 with actual indycars. We should et qualifing and practice sessions for endurance races as well. Just my opinion but I think that will need to be added to be the most realistic driving simulator ever.

IRL = In Real Life.

Yes in real life it's more demanding physically but in the game it's repetitively boring. No adrenalin like irl. Here is the official rule on driving time from http://www.grand-am.com/grand-am101/index.cfm?cid=24683

Maximum Driving Time
No competitor may drive for more than three and one half hours consecutively in the Rolex 24 At Daytona or the Sahlen's Six Hours of The Glen. After three hours consecutive driving time, drivers must take at least a one hour of rest after getting out of the car before returning to competition.

We have b-spec drivers we should be allowed to have them run on our team with a minimum ammount of time the a spec driver has to drive. This is just really poor aspect to the game. The more I play gt5 the more I become disappointed with it's overall construction. Poor job pd.
