If the "rumor" I heard was true regarding the minimum number of laps required to beat the AI (380) is correct, then for those wondering how long it takes, it can be done in under 18 hours worth of actual driving. I did it in about 16h, 45m (pic attached). I didn't cut any chicanes on the long straightaway...I only cut the last two coming to the flagstand...and even then, I kept it on the pavement 90% of the time. Outside of fuel laps/out laps, the majority of my lap times were between 2:16 and 2:22. My fastest was a 2:16.489. I had a handful in the 2:16 range, and double digits in the 2:17 range. I had about five "first segment" times that were sub-17 seconds.

Speaking of "trap times", I noticed during one lap that the segment times didn't work at all. I didn't make note of what lap it was, but I noticed it again on Lap 250 (made note of it that time). I estimated that perhaps the first occurrence of it was Lap 125, so I paid close attention on Lap 375. It worked fine that time. Interesting.

I've got it parked against the wall near the flagstand for the next few hours. Can't wait to be done with this. Nurburgring is next! :)

Welcome to 2010.

Congrats on the overdone smartass comment of the day award.

Yesterday's winner went to the lucky party who busted off "you mad, bro?"

A day doesn't go by where I don't see somebody ask "how long does it take to turn the minimum number of laps at LeMans?" Nobody ever answers or people guess. If nothing else, sincerest apologies for being proud of completing it. Didn't mean to piss in your Cheerios.

Thanks for the info U2Edge. I believe a lot of GT5 players have not yet completed any of the 24h endurance races, myself included. I don't care about the completion percentage, credits (winnings), prize car, or any of that. Someday maybe I will give these enduros a go, and I am grateful that the save game was added so I won't have to leave the PS3 idling while I go sleep or live my life.

EDIT: What car did you use?

It's clearly and X2011.... when i do Le Mans I won't pick that, I want an actual LMP.

I´m doing it at the moment, with the mazda 787B, 11 hours into it in a few days thank to the mid race save.
Is dark and hard, but oh so much fun.:)

ON topic: Nice info, i was wondering that myself.

Not sure if I can handle 24 hours (even split up) of the screaming 787B sound... it's exciting in sprint races but in an enduro it will probably wear me out faster. I would rather drive the Mercedes Sauber C9, Toyota GT-One TS020 or Peugeot 908 HDI FAP, assuming those are allowed in the enduros.

You can use whatever car you'd like in the endurance races.

Lesson learned the hard way. Save early, save often. If nothing else, right before you "park it" for multiple hours (if you go that route). I went to a homeowners association meeting last night with my car still parked on the side of the road. With only about 75 minutes worth of "parking" remaining, my wife used our Logitech Harmony One remote (and the corresponding PS3 adapter to turn off the PS3 on our MAIN level (my daughter watches episodes of Dora on there). When the Logitech PS3 adapter tried turning off the PS3 on the main level, it actually tripped the one just the floor below it. So I get home to see the PS3 in my game room turned OFF. My wife said she even heard the music from the PS3 down below while they were watching Dora. Since there wasn't a power outage, that's the only other explanation I can think of.

To make a long story short, instead of only having to watch my driver park for another 75 minutes, I had to pick up where I last "saved" -- lap 302. So I had another four hours of driving to "re-do".

Got back to lap 380 today. This time I saved it, quit the game and resumed. There are just too many things that can go wrong during seven hours worth of parking to take the chance again.

There's only one X2011...

Then I stand corrected -- it was the X2010. It's the black carbon fiber one you get from getting all gold in the Vettel challenge(s). Naturally, there are multiple colors for the X2010 (Red Bull, normal paint options and black carbon fiber). The X2011 was a DLC car -- so you are correct.

Not true about the laps.

If you're referring to my original post, I lead in by saying...

"If the "rumor" I heard was true regarding the minimum number of laps required to beat the AI (380)..."

So I called it a rumor from the get go. It turned out to be a pretty good approximation for the race I was in, but naturally it can very depending upon weather conditions. I just finished my "parking" (a nice 7-hour lap time), plus I went ahead and turned a few extra laps for good measure. The second-place car finished with 369 laps. That being said, it started raining lightly at around lap 375 for me. It didn't even start registering on the "water meter" until well after I parked it. I would venture to guess the final seven hours were run under 100% "wet" conditions. So numerous wet laps were turned by the competition. If the entire race went dry, they would have turned more laps...but I wouldn't imagine more than 400 total. Naturally, if the entire race was "wet", they would have turned even less than the 369 they ran in the race I was in. But since more than one fourth of the race was run in dry conditions, again, I would "guesstimate" the maximum number of laps needed to be run under any weather circumstances to be 400. It's just a guess. If anybody has run a 24-hour enduro under completely dry conditions, they would have an exact answer.

I had a 100% completely dry 24hr at La Sarthe back in November 2011... AI did 382 laps.

But maybe the figure is different due to updates since then... tyre wear, etc. :ouch:
