Hiya i can't seem to find a thread on this and was just wondering what the amount of laps the al do in the 24hr lemans at Sarthe, I'd like to know this so that I don't have to do the full 24 hours and can do this amount of laps and then park up.

Many Thanks 😁

It's not the same for all, probably, but it is probably consistent. I myself haven't done the A-Spec 24hr race, however, it's probably in the 180-200 range.

It's actually more like 280+, I was 4 or 5 laps up after 180 laps or so, and that took 14 hours.

I know nurb is about 160 laps on a 15 mile track. Le mans is 8 miles, so maybe 300 laps?

To win 24 Lemans you need to complete 380 laps then you can park up and wait till the end, but remember to go over the finish line at the 24th hour.

I used the x1 at Indy. You destroy the AI and practically go blind doing it. It's so boring and your eyes just wanna fall out of your head.

But hey, 30 second lap times, 30 something laps ahead. It was too easy.

Sorry for the noob question here, but does the 24 Hour Le Mans actually take 24 hours to complete..? I came from Forza where the endurance events were 1 hour long haha.

Also, another noob question. I was reading the link above, on how to complete said 24 Hour event, and there's lots of fuel and tire strategics being discussed.
I have been looking everywhere on how to turn damage, fuel and tire wear on, but haven't worked out how. Is it only for endurance races? Or can it be turned on for all the A and B spec events?

EDIT: Oh god, I meant to post this in the endurance thread right under this. Sorry for the bump on this one :/.

The Endurance races in GT5 are real time. So if its 24 hours long your going to race 24 hours, but theres a save feature so u can take a break whenever u please.

Damage is not put into the A/B-spec game, it is only found in arcade mode if you choose to turn it on.
-Fuel and tire wear can be found only in endurance races and in arcade mode as well if you turn it on, But it will be there 100% of the time in a endurance race.

:)

Awesome, thanks for clearing that up. I'm so pumped to reach the level required for the 24h races now :sly:.

Which makes car setup all that more important, camber/toe especially. Most of it comes down to the actual driving, so you can't exactly do this and get away with it... well you can, but on RS's you'll be pitting every 10 minutes. And you defiantly don't want to be mid-lap on rims. As for fuel, I'll offer the hint of only keeping at max a half-tank. Slashes pit stops down to sub-10s times, and who needs all that extra weight anyway 👍

Too bad GT doesn't take fuel weight in to consideration when modeling the physics

I've defiantly noticed better times with less fuel. Effects on tire wear may be negligible, but a few seconds saved nonetheless.

It does effect the physicals actually as others have said.

I always drive with about half at tank and sometimes less just for faster laps.

But your back tires will wear a bit more in the back so depending on the car and its tire wear i may try to keep the amount of gas a bit higher in my car, just so i can drive it.

Well, of all time Mark IV (my pic)
Modern, R18.
In game, 787b and 905

 I too like all of these cars

Mark IV > Jaguar and Ferrari
R18 - Wishes was in GT5, is great car
787b and 905 i shouldn't even have to say.

As much as i like Audi though in Le Mans, im kinda tired of seeing them winning though.

I really wanted to see Toyota win this year tbh with there TS030. Was Heartbroken when the stupid Ferrari got in its way causing it to flip.

2 times now i can blame Ferrari for taking down a great car, (cant remember when) Took down a 908, and a Ts030. -.- Ferrari im beginning to hate you. sry
