24hr le mans

 I too like all of these cars

Mark IV > Jaguar and Ferrari
R18 - Wishes was in GT5, is great car
787b and 905 i shouldn't even have to say.

As much as i like Audi though in Le Mans, im kinda tired of seeing them winning though.

I really wanted to see Toyota win this year tbh with there TS030. Was Heartbroken when the stupid Ferrari got in its way causing it to flip.

2 times now i can blame Ferrari for taking down a great car, (cant remember when) Took down a 908, and a Ts030. -.- Ferrari im beginning to hate you. sry

Ferraris took out BOTH R18s in the 2011 race. However, it did make for the closest Le Mans ever (13.854sec)

totaly forgot about that. Errr i really hate ferrari now after them ruining some of the best le mans cars. -.-

-Peugeot
-Toyoto
-Audi

All great Le Mans companies imo and yet ferrari has to ruin there pretty cars. Ferrari, stop destroying lmp cars, its not cool. Perhaps they should make a Le mans car so they can destroy themselves, see how it feels.

At least they didn't take out the 787b :)

Yeah, the 787B's last race was in '91, which I believe was prior to Ferrari's entry into the race.

i have, id say its not that bad but im just used to using a ds3. Im sure if i bought a wheel and did again though id be saying right about now that using the ds3 sucked.

:)

I used to be a DS3 guy, and I didn't think the wheel would be that much better, but OH MY it makes the world of difference. If you can save up $130 for a Driving Force GT, I highly suggest it. If money isn't an object, go all out and get a G27 (~$250). You could get the t500 wheel, but $500 is just ridiculous, I could never see myself spending that much on a wheel when there is something very, very comparable that costs roughly half the price.

I had a wheel for my ps2 (until it broke). Spent $10 on it at a garage sale. It was the best purchase ever. 👍

G27 wheels are $400 here :guilty:.

Question; if you run up gutters and stuff, drive on the rumble strips etc, does that "damage" your tires and make them wear faster?

I like gt5 but i don't really wanna go out and even spend $130 for a wheel. Id rather get cheaper.

not sure if ferrari was or not. But either if they were or wern't at least they didnt ruin such a great car.

787b ftw

i honestly don't know but i avoid them anyway because depending on track and set up they can make tires wear unevenly, cause you to spin out, or even make 1 of your tires go airborne.

Which can all potentially make your tires wear anyway.

In real life, to an extent, yes, the kerbs add to tire degradation. Not sure in GT5 as I haven't done any tests, but I believe it does not affect tire wear, or if it does it's extremely minute. But I see kerbs as a fundamental part of the racing line, because if you aren't using every inch of the track, you can go faster ;)

I'm practicing for the 24 hrs Le Mans race with a Peugeot 908 HDI FAP, stage 3 turbo and RH tyres. Got a few questions: I can do 3:33 s a lap - that I think is still way too slow, ain't it? What time could this car be capable of? As for tyres, I can make them last 6 laps. Is that good or should I be aiming for longer lasting tyres?

That's about normal.

Hiya i can't seem to find a thread on this and was just wondering what the amount of laps the al do in the 24hr lemans at Sarthe, I'd like to know this so that I don't have to do the full 24 hours and can do this amount of laps and then park up.

Many Thanks ?de01

Check out shoes thread but it's usually about 380

Those 3:33 laps are more than enough to win this. The usual rabbit, being the Pescarolo Hybrid lapping in the 3:40 region, but usually in the high 40s though, can only go 4 laps at best.

All you should really worry about is tire consumption. If you can go 6 laps for every set of tires, then no worries about pulling the win, though it's possible to make your tires last 7 laps.

And as for time it's capable of? Well I managed to get this car to the 3:19 region on softs and with max power and downforce.
