24hr Nurburgring Endurance Aspec - Help Needed

Hello GTP users,

Looking for some advice on the 24hr Nürburgring Endurance race.

I have unlocked level 40 very late last night and have a race with a fair few mates this weekend and was wondering.

What car is best to do this in? I have been testing various LM cars to ensure the best all rounder as some people havent raced before, some are ok, and some are rather good.

Some of the LM cars are lacking in the lighting department, e.g. Peugeot 905. But then the Mazda 787B is much better on lighting but only had 5 gears.

I am really concerned about starting this race and finding we end up doing 10-15+min laps because we cannot see the track during the night hours.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Congratulation mate!

Just finish the " Le Mans 24h " by using X1 vettle , AVG lap time : 2:25 / lap ,actual play time 17h .currently LV 37
I think the X2010 or X1 will be best car to do endurance racing

Why ?
* Quick avg lap time = minimize the actual play time *
According my LM 24h experienced could save about 6~7 hrs for break

I was glad to get to the ring endurance at last, been doing various a spec races over and over again and the 4hr ring endurance about 40 times now to get myself here.

I havent used the x1 for anything other than if I need some cash. But as this is the "driving experience" i really was looking to use a car more suited to the rest of the contenders. Here are some of the examples of the cars I was thinking;

- Bentley Speed 8
- Audi R10
- Mazda 787B
- Peugeot 905

If anyone has any other ideas of cars that are useful at night but still going to give a good all rounded car to race with the other AI that will be great.

Will be using the G27 wheel and pedals in a custom racebase cockpit, with triple tv setup (2x 42" and 1x 50")

Sorry I should have said no X1 but thanks for the suggestion Hawk.

How come?

I find the X2010 really boring to do Endurance races with... Specially those races with CLOCK limit, not lap limit!

As for the 24 hour race at Nurburgring, I think im gonna use my 787B Stealth model... Just love that car :D
But then again I have a long way to go to get there.

I also like the Audi R8 LMS Race Car '09... It's quite good...

No way, seriously? That sounds like it would make a good race. Would it keep pace with the LM cars? I have yet to RM the elise. I know what I will be doing this evening! Any other suggestions Teddy?

on nurburgring just draft then when your in the lead you got it... they pit before you & you can make up the time... takes skill but that tune can win...test it on a 5 lap in arcade.... let me know how you do
 
I have yet to try the R8 LM on night circuit, ill give that a go later McSoap, good idea.

Im the same, discount the X1, its not a "real" car and a true driving experience will be to use a car that would be on a par with the other AI drivers. Need to ensure its not a walk in the park, but still allows us to win.

Have to remember that there is different skills, some of us have been playing this game for many years, and some have yet to have their first go. We have over 10 drivers and were going to change drivers every hour to ensure we all have a good session.

However! When I am testing using the 787 or others the lighting in the dark is nowhere near as good as this. Any thoughts? Ill try get some images for you so you can see what I mean. I am using the new Samsung LED 50" so wondering if its the latest patch as there were a few changes to shadows and lighting?

I don't really see any difference in using the X2010 or having an entourage of 10+ mates driving for you ... both are not particularly "real" tbh

Oh I am after the "real driving experience" I will be doing this last one on my own in a couple of weeks time. Just nice to have a good laugh with mates and have a bit of the "change driver" like in the real Nurburgring 24hr.
 
Bentley Speed 8, definitely. I'm using it right now for 24H Le Mans, and it rocks. Solid and fun to drive. The headlamps seem to work fine for me as well. Early in the evening I was using the Lo-beams, it's now about 4 am in the game and I've been using the Hi-beams for a few hours. Not a problem seeing at all. Of course Nurburgring will be darker, but I will not hesitate to use the Speed 8 when I get to N-ring 24.

Try this. Test drive any car on your top choices then go race the real 24 hour Nurburgring, Do some laps including pit stops for refuel & tire change then hit the Start button and Exit. Compare their times then have the top 3 cars, narrow it down for their overall performance. I did this on Circuit de la Sarthe 24 hrs of Le Mans. I will soon do the 24 hours of Nurburgring Nordschleife and will use only those cars similar to AI to have more competition and enjoyment. Can't believe people using the X1 as this is an endurance racing (24 hours) you might as well enjoy it and not be bored by just later on park it.

It's a 24h endurance race, it's boring regardless. Might as well do it with one that can ensure a victory and give you plenty of room for error so you don't have to do it again. And really, it is a lap limit. The AI is only going to get around the track in a set number of laps, once you surpass that number you can just park the car and wait til time is up to cross the finish line.

I'll be up for another 24hr online as long as it's proper cars :p

Just not a huge fan of the x1, yeah it's a great car, but I prefer something that I can have some fun with and not just a ticket to win.

Smart & reasonable way to do endurance race and most of all might play alone
With out proper rest can be dangers to your heath

After all no mater how fast car you got still have to takes 15~17 hrs to completed
" Endurance race is a test to your will to win "👍

are there really LM cars like r10, minolta etc. in the 24h nur race? man, i thought yamauchi is a big fan of this endurance race, he should know that those cars don´t participate in the event. this would be a big disappointment for me since i was looking forward to the 24h race. btw. cars like the 787b or the x2010 are way to fast to have serious fun on this track. with a bmw m3 gtr or mercedes sls you have a real good time on the ring.

Isn't the Bentley a standard? Thought standards didn't have a high beam low beam option.

I noticed this when testing the various cars. Shame!

Looks like we may be going for the 905 or the 908. Going to do some additional testing using the RKM Motorsport's "908 Killer Whale" tune to see if this helps. Its pretty twitchy when its raining especially if you are on hards and it starts raining when you are half way round.

Anyone got any good pit strategies? Working through testing it looks like you need to really pit every 3-4 laps.

Has anyone used the 3 monitor setup with an endurance as yet?
