Just did or was doing the 24hr Nurburgring Endurance race in GT5 with the Corvette ZR1 RM and was 2min something behind leader (Pegueot 905) and was closing fast due to 100% wet track which equals 75% slower cars so anyways 13 Hours into the race I go to enter the race options and Ive done it so much cause I always race with no display (place, position and time) so I do it fast and made the mistake of hitting exit and next thing I know its at the main race screen. I am furious and Im sure im not the only one who has done this. Why dont they make a (Are you sure you want to exit?) for endurance races? They did it for restarts why not exiting?

Dont know why. You did the fail though gutted!

Not for that. I did the same thing 35 laps into the 90 lap endurance at Laguna Seca. Just always click one to the right and NEVER to the left.

I've done that a few times myself.

My buddy did that after we had nearly finished (a much shorter) endurance race with a competitive car. Needless to say I watched TV while he finished it on his own in an X1 :D
Unlucky mate, 13 hours.....ouch!

You are a braver soul than I for choosing that car in that race, seem it would take(have taken) 24hrs of focus to win that one. I used the X1 and parked it on the side of the road by the finish line for the final 4 hrs... Sorry to hear of your loss though. Can't say it hasn't happened to me too, usually in b-spec as I go to pick the controller up I accidentally hit circle, then press x real fast to pace my driver up, next thing i realize, I'm back on the gt life page, all progress lost.

Your loss is huge though, and PD should really think of fixing that.

I did not care about first I just wanted to race the GT1 cars and I noticed there were a few so I figured the ZR1 RM is the closest I could get to a GT1 car

I'm using the Schulze GT-R on the Nurburgring 24 hour endurance race and make sure that after every stint I make a copy of my save so if anything does go t!ts up I haven't lost much (only the stint I just done)
13 hours :ouch: of your life you ain't ever gonna get back!

I found out there's a way to go around this with the new mid-race save we have. If you save it, exit the game, reload and continue the race, if you have problems like accidentally exiting, freezing, etc., next time you load it up it'll start you off from where you last saved.

Although it should be noted that to do this you MUST save and completely exit the game. If you save and then continue your race without exiting the game, it will scratch that save. (hope that makes sense)

They removed it because too many people complained about too many "are you sure?" messages in past GT titles and early GT5 patches. Guess you got unlucky :/

Ha! That's because they seriously overdid it! I remember on GT4, just creating a game save was a pain. "You need to make a gamesave" (Ok) "do you want to make a Gran Turismo 4 game save" (Yes) "The game is going to make gamesave, are you sure?" OMG Yes already! Lol

I agree I many times accidently click the exit button, how could they remove that confirmation screen is beyond me
