Was anyone else put off when they tried to paint their DeLoreans a gold colour to try and emulate the two specially plated ones and then found out you couldn't actually paint it?

I was.:grumpy:

If you're not sure what I mean check this out:

Cheers!

Whats a DeLorean?

But, sadly yes, it can not be painted. There are also Red ones out there in the real world.

Well, I heard that Gold Chrome was a fake (too bad...) but I've seen painted DeLoreans in the real world - I like blue, black, and red the most!

I wish I could have a rainbow fleet of DeLoreans... love them SO much!

What do Deloreans wound like?? I saw a mint looking car in Tooting Bec in London before & couldn't figure of what car it was but I remembered the door shape just now & kinda looked like Delorean doors! The car had a loud V8/V12 noise, sounded Italian!

If I ever win the lottery or strike it rich, I'm ordering the Sports edition Delorean from that Texas company!!

the DeLorean is a V6, and not an Italian one.

80mph is fine, you'll be seeing some serious stuff at 88mph. Where would he find the 1.21 Gigawatts of power anyway?

I have the AU version, and it's only got BHP (which is annoying because we use kw and bhp depending on the situation).

1.21 gigawatts = 1,622,636.73 horsepower. That's a lot of horses!

That's equal to at least 1,000 X1/X2010's

I love this car. Loved it before "Back to the Future" made it popular amongst everyone of my generation. :) I've got one in my GT5 garage and will be picking up another the next time I see it.

Almost bought the real deal used years back when I was shopping for a Ferrari 308. Unfortunately, the thing was a bucket and needed somewhere around $10,000 worth of maintenance & restoration just to get it roadworthy again. Add that to the already too high asking price and I just couldn't even consider it. (Never got the Ferrari either. :( Changed careers around that time and couldn't risk the outlay. And by the time I could, I'd missed the window in which you could still get a solid 308 for a reasonable price.)

An acquaintance of mine has one that he's kept in really great shape. Everyone calls him Marty. I honestly don't know if that's really his name and a co-incidence, or if it's just a "Back to the Future" reference. :)

There was a red one that ran around my hometown for a while back in the day. It was gorgeous. It looked like it was anodized on, not painted. You could see the texture of the stainless steel. Looked SO hot on that car.
