We just had a 2min silence at 13.46 here at work to remember the trajedy that happened last year today. Although it didnt seem right, everyone seems to be as cheery as usuall afterwards, maybe its just me.

Anyway did any other people do simmilar things at work, school etc?

We had a 1 minute silence at 1.46. Thing is, we at our school shut up one area of it, to do it ourselves (we're year 11, so they'll listen to us, 5th grade to you lot I think, maybe 6th) Anyhow, everything went according to plan. No teachers abound :) Go into regisration and find we have to do one at 2.15 :(

Still, first one we did was better, people were being stupid in regisration.

And I'm a person who doesn't like silences...

we had a 1 min of silence at my college, nobody stopped walking or talking though
it was very rude......
but the fact is that some people just dont care

Yep, we held a one minute silence here too.

We shut the trading floor.... total silence, very eerie.

Got to say I went past the American Embassy on the way to work, for a moment of personal contemplation. Lot's of TV crews and cops, mind you that's not surprising after that nutter in Sweeden last week. And i've spent most of the day thinking about it and browsing old news stories and stuff on the web.

at school, we had about ten minutes of complete silence in memory of the tragedy. Then, everything went on as normal. No-one seemed to care what had just happened. Everything went on as though it had never happened. No-one cared. I was almost furious.

I gave my silence at school today. Then the band played the National Athem. It was great everyone in the red white and blue clothes flying flags listening to the Star Spangled Banner.

we didnt do anything at school, but at church we sang patriotic songs and our pastor preached about the how in the Bible(King James Version) it says that a big part of the Middle East belongs to Israel.

It says part of the Middle East belongs to Israel? Besides being completely wrong, there was no Israel when the Bible was written.

When was this Bible written?

we had one at 9AM our time...then the choir sang over the intercom(or lack thier of) and sang patriot songs(or tryied to, the intercom isn't stereo and it sounded like utter crap).

Rest of the day it was like normal...I personally don't like bringing up bad stuff like Sept 11 or people killed...I like just being quiet and not getting depressed about stuff like that, especially in school where I'm already depressed.

I've been watching the ceremonies...some of them at least...watched Dateline's Air Controllers point of view...that was very interesting, a great show.
