So I have successfully used Simhub to create Rearview and side mirrors, using screen capture. I then use old tablets/phones to display them.
Thinking bigger picture now. 😆
I want a 3 monitor setup on PS4, which I understand only works on a PC. I believe this can be achieved however using simhub screen capture.
However, the problems that I see are as follows:
My Main PS4 TV will display the entire game resolution. Only way to make the entire 3 display appear to be seamless IMO would be to position the two additional monitors in front of the main monitor. In a layout such as this.
_______
/…………\
Thus essentially cutting off the sides of the display on the main monitor while projecting those portion's of the game screen to the side monitors using SIMhub screen capture and PS Remote Play running on the laptop.
Which brings me to the real issue I foresee. My laptop is not going to be able to handle 4 external monitors. If it could, that would be great because I could define 2 32 inch monitors vertically to go along with the 50”
TV running the game (which is also connected to my laptop).
However, my thoughts are I can connect these two side monitors directly to the Internet to access my SIMhub screen captures, which I believe will work, but there is most likely going to be an orientation problem.
Can monitors be internally set up vertically without the use of windows? Haven’t found much on this topic?
When using a phone or tablet the accelerometer in such devices handle this problem.
So I am Guessing to make this work, I need the ability to rotate the screen outside of windows, not just physically.
Or find a way to rotate the screen capture from SIM hub which I’m not sure as possible.
Has anyone tried something like this? Am I out of my mind lol? I am personally not familiar enough with smart TV setup to know if orientation can be defined. My cheap 50” does not appear to have this ability
Let me know your thoughts. Hope this makes sense 😝
Thanks
EDIT: well my display of monitors did not show up Correctly.
So using Simhub screen capture and PS Remote Play, I was able to create 3 separate dashboards. One rear view mirror with some telemetry added, one left side mirror and one right side mirror. Then I port each dashboard to a separate device using Wi-Fi. Side mirrors use old phones and the rearview mirror uses an iPad.
Creates more immersion. I have my side mirrors(old phones) mounted outside my rig rollbar and the rearview mirror(iPad) is mounted in the center of the dash in front of my G29 wheel.
Since the old phones went outside the rig, I have free space on the dash for 2 more...
