the battle of the awd turbo charged monsters, both very very nice cars, but what one wins stock? whats the better buy, and im talking about close to the same year models, not the brand new sti's

The 3000GT has ~40 more HP and the handling on it is probably better, so that should win against a similar year STI.

But the 3kgt is a lot more heavier than the STi. I'd say the 3kGT is no match against a STi Spec C

Well GTO (3000GT) was something like NSX's Mitsubishi counterpart, but never has quite got there.

I know you guys are talking about full lap battles, but a stock 3000GT destroys an STI in a drag race, seen it with my own eyes.

True. Mitsubishi has never really understood the power of advertising. They do now though, since like 2008ish.

In a full on race I think the Subaru Impreza STi C spec would have the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo in an all stock race. But if they were both at full spec (fully upgraded) I think the 3000GT would come away with more hp, with a similar weight, similar handling (if tuned right), and thus the win.

The STI oversteers really bad because of limited wheel travel, so even in a stock race the 3000GT would probably win.
