Like any big purchase, buying a car can be a very exciting experience. At the moment buying a car in Gran Turismo is not very intimate or exciting. You scroll through some images of cars, choose a color and your done. Its like your buying a car on amazon.com. Very boring.

The REAL car buying experience is much more and I think it would be a great addition to GT7.

I'd like the ability to walk around each manufacturer's dealership in 3D, just as you would in real life. There will be rows of cars, with the same models being available in different trims and in different colors. Maybe even have it where you can start them up, look under the hood, or sit inside.

In the back of the dealership could be their used car models

I think it would be a great fantasy to walk around all these cars and know you can go home with anyone you want.

If I remember correctly, I used a feature like this before. I think this feature was in Project Gotham Racing 2. To add-on, that feature worked out wonderfully and really brought some extra life to the game. That wouldn't be a bad feature to implement in GT7.

adding on to the suggestion, maybe have a test drive feature in it too. Wouldn't be a true free roam dealership without the ability to test drive the vehicle you're about to buy around the block once or twice. I'd love to truly know what kind of car I'm about to buy before I buy it instead of blindly buying a car and finding out it handles horribly. The test drive feature I feel would be very fitting if they had a strict credit system in GT7. but getting back on topic, this is overall a great suggestion!

I think this would be an awesome addition... maybe something we could see in future generations of Gran Turismo though. I would love to be able to walk around any dealership as you said and go through the experience of "physically" choosing my car.

Some dealerships could be full of sold used cars from other online players. Instead of simply disappearing when sold back to the dealership these cars go to online used car dealerships. They keep their original form. Their color or any upgrades such as rims, livery or tuning parts remain intact. That would add alot of variety.

With this feature I wouldnt mind if random used car dealerships returned. I'd love looking around and stumbling upon a '88 Toyota Supra or a '67 Shelby Mustang GT500 burried between a dozen old civics

Euro truck Simulator 2 had something similar when buying trucks bUT more limited-ish.

I Would love to have that feature.

...If next GT is an open-world game yeah, this should be a nice concept. A big emphasis on "if", of course.

This feature is in test drive unlimited 2. I have posted this idea before. But I don't know where.

This is a wonderful idea.

Being able to take on a first-person view (Forza's AutoVista-style) and walk freely around a dealership - along with the inclusion of an "Add to Cart/List" system that'd allow for multiple vehicles to be purchased all in one transaction - would be a gargantuan improvement over GT6's dealership, which, in my opinion, is kind of a bore.

Also, for manufacturers like Nissan with lots to choose from, its dealership could then be indoors with multiple floor levels, each floor pertaining to a certain PP range with 8-12 cars per floor (Bottom floor would have the lowest-PP cars, top floor would have the highest; you get the idea).

And maybe, for Nissan's older race cars like the R89 and Bluebird Rally Car, there'd be an old garage in the back of the dealership lot that could be walked to and opened, revealing the cars in a way that gives off the impression that they've actually been kept locked away for decades to be preserved and such. Of course all of this would be applied to any manufacturer for which it'd make sense.

Geez, I could go on for hours expanding on this idea, but it isn't gonna happen. :indiff: Have my like anyway.
