Sorry. We should have been clearer.
There are 4 classes, with different restrictions such as hp/weight/tires or pp-based. The track for each class is chosen based what kinds of cars would be expected to fall into that class. For example, we wouldnt choose the Daytona Oval for a Kart race.
The decision to split the league into two divisions was taken because we consistently had 18-19 racers showing up on race day, and therefore a couple of people had to sit out. Also, we found that an even split of our members preferred to race at either 8pm CST or 9pm CST. So, now we have two divisions with 8-9 members in each, and each driver gets to pick whether they would like to drive with the 8pm division (A) or the 9pm division (B).
We have assigned host, alternate host and scorekeepers for each division, and the races are held in the lounges of the respective hosts.
Just to give you an example, this is how a regular raceday (we have two racedays each week) would pan out.
7.45-7.50pm : Drivers from div A join the div A host's lounge.
8pm : All div A drivers participate in div A class alpha, beta, charlie and delta races.
Meanwhile.....
8.45 - 8.50pm : Drivers from div B join the div B host's lounge.
9pm : All div B drivers participate in div B class alpha, beta, charlie and delta races.
The two divisions both have the same scoring scheme (meaning a race winner in div A gets the same number of points as a race winner in div B), but a separate scoreboard is maintained for div A and div B.
Furthermore, scoreboards are maintained for each individual class as well. Prize cars are handed out at the end of each 'season' for the overall winner in each div, each class winner and the top 3 fairest/cleanest drivers of the season. A vote is taken from all the drivers at the end of the season to determine who were the top 3 fairest drivers of the season.
