The kid has precise steering and timing with the gameplay. I say, this is the real deal.

It's probably real... I've seen more impressive feats accomplished by younger children. These are the days of digital media and internet.

I think i surely can be real, but he can be also imitating a replay.
That would explain the exact movements of the wheel to match the screen.

Whatever it is, KUDOS FOR THE KID!

Well he drives like a four year old. Poor lines, poor anticipation of the car's movements, couple of offs AND he's using TCS and ABS! Lame kid, go back to school.

Im sure its real because my son is 3 1/2 and drives nascar car in Daytona, no matter the time, but he does. Just practice the game for 6 mounths and im sure he will drive like this.

you can keep hearing the steering wheel cable motor whining.. higher end wheels have a powered cable pulley system (used to tug the wheel for crashing effects, but also can auto steer steer the wheel) ...this was a replay of the run and the steering wheel auto turned based on what was happening in the replay... all the lil kid had to do is hold onto the wheel and it turns it for him.

You are generally right. You can create some kind of auto pilot for any kind of controller.
I researched the topic a bit, as i got inspired by the "auto A spec" thread here and wanted to auto A spec some championship or at least a "normal" track besides the Daytona oval.
However, there is so much involved here (just major steps: get the right API for the related controller, read and record the inputs from a manual lap, automate the signals in a software and push them to the PS3 via USB) that you are better off training a person for a while.

I think the video is quite suspicious, but from my knowledge its rather real than fake.

Best

They should give the kid the new thrustmaster wheel and set it to full force feedback. Then we'll see something worth watching 👍

Why would it be fake? It was a pretty poor and very slow, exactly what I'd expect from a 4 year old. If it was good enough to beat bronze or better then maybe i'd think it was fake.

Which is why a smart person would drive the lap badly and get the kid to copy what he sees on the screen. (replay) A kid copying what's on TV is more normal than a 4 year old driving an X2010 with a wheel, so it has to be more likely too.

Why? It's not like the guy is trying to make out the kid is a driving god, he's just driving a very fast car at an average pace with lots of assists turned on. I've no doubt a four year old could do that with a wheel, it's not hard to drive a fast car slowly.

I don't think he's doing the pedals but it's hard to tell since the picture is so dark.

I wouldn't go to such an effort to fool people, but some people will and do. Without knowing what they get out of it, I couldn't tell you why they do it, the same would apply to some people who write viruses.

I accept that this could be real, I have just seen so many fake videos, pictures, etc, that I think there is more chance of it being fake than real.
