One of my PSN friends was looking for a good car for 450 PP range online racing. His request made me realize that I don't have a "go to" car for that range, even for offline races. I usually pick a car like the ones the AI drivers are racing and just give it some upgrades until it's able to compete.

I started thinking about what would be a good choice for that range, something that handles well, but isn't lacking in acceleration capabilities and I'm pretty much drawing a blank today, for some reason. I know there are good cars for this, but I just can't think of anything.

What are some suggestions for this range? I can always find the tunes for the cars using Adrenaline's site, but I need to know what to try.

Thanks in advance.

RUF 3400S '00
Aston Martin Vanquish '04
Infinity G35 Coupe Concept '06
Toyota supra RZ

And some others few that i don't have in mind. Those are the news top 450PP road cars.

I found your tune for the Ruf and just got done taking it for a ride around Nordschleife. Wow, I couldn't be happier with that car. That is exactly what I was looking for; a speedy little beast that can take the turns well. Even being unfamiliar with the car I was able to fly through that track.

That is a beautifully tuned car. Very nice work and thank you for suggesting it. I will try the other three when I get a chance, but right now I'm working on getting all of the UCD cars.

Thank you for your help and great tune.

Mustang SVT Cobra R, Nissan Silvia Spec R aero '99 and TVR Speed 6 are also very good in addition to those stated by praiano :)

Wait and see what happens with the below Shootout. The recent 2.10 update has somewhat changed the cars you might normally go for at a particular PP;

Check out the cars listed in the link above and the cars suggested by Mike and Praiano. Make sure you have a look at the Pontiac Solstice, you'll be surprised at just how quick that car is, mine is currently on share and you'll find the (Nurb Ring specific) build for it in my sig 👍

Sorry that I didn't reply to this sooner. I've been a little distracted lately.

Praiano: All four of the cars that you suggested are very nice. The RUF and Inifiniti drive incredibly well. (I used your tunes for all four of your suggestions.) I think that the Aston Martin will grow on me as I drive it more. There's something unique about it that I can't quite explain. I honestly didn't expect to like it, but it may end up being my favorite of the four as time goes on. :)

Did the Update effect the PP of the Aston Martin? Mine came out at a different PP than yours and I don't know if I made a mistake or if the update changed things. I've been known to make mistakes before. :D

mike_gt3: Do you have 450 PP tunes for any of those three cars? I couldn't find any at all for the Silvia. The Speed 6 tunes that I found were all 500 and above. The SVT tunes that I found were all fully tuned to 584. Edit: I found a 450 SVT in the FITT Shootout topic.

I'd like to try these cars out at 450, but my previous attempts at adjusting tunes down to meet a different PP requirement have been hit & miss. Some of them turned out okay (but not great) and others have been complete disasters. :dunce:

CyKosis: That Solstice is completely and utterly insane. Are you crazy? hehe

I mean that in the best possible way, in case that's not clear. :sly: Holy crap that thing is fast. There's definitely a learning curve to it, but it's a hell of a lot of fun to drive. Seeing as I got a Gold time in the Tsukuba TT (#55) in an untuned Toyota Supra 3.0 GT Turbo A '88, I think I can handle this one. (The Supra took a ton of effort to stay in control, but it was fun. Give it a try if you feel like a little challenge. :D)

How insane is that Solstice with no PP limits? Have you tried that out? That has to be a monster fully upgraded. I may need to check the UCD for another one of those and try it. I wish the Engine upgrades weren't permanent, I don't want to ruin the 450 PP of this one.

@Ivan believe I still have an SSR on share that is a lot of fun and easy to drive.
Will be looking into giving it a proper tune soon for best performance but the rough tune on the shared car isn't bad.
Also have a Silvia spec-R Aero (S15) '02 on share as well for the current F.I.T.T. shootout if you want to give it a run.👍👍

Those sound fun, Desperado. I'll run them through the Ring. . . er. hehe

Do you know if most of the tuners for the FITT would be likely to let me run their shared cars, or do you think they have full friends' lists from the contest?

If I had paid more attention to it, I might have signed up as a test driver for it, but it's too late now.

Well, I certainly don't mind it, though my chop-shop 'Stang (named for the 5 minute guess tune I slapped on it ) is really nothing to shout about.

You know, you can choose to test just 450PP right? I know it's still 17 or so cars, but you know, 2 laps per car or so including restarts, you could be there with a day to spare.

I'm sure if you PM'ed all the tuners, they'd make some space on their lists. Mine as it happens is very empty.

I have a better built Solstice in the pipe-line, built in a similar way to Praiano's Aston. It's nowhere near as crazy now, but it's faster than ever..!!

Engine upgrades are all that can be done on the car, as it is, it's had everything else thrown at it. It will likely be able to handle the extra beans on better tyres, but I'd be wary of adding that extra power and trying to run in on SH tyres :scared:

I've added another 10kg over the rear wheels, reduced the power limiting (to compensate for the extra weight and still hit 450PP), stiffened the springs, increased EXT front and rear, increased ARBs and drastically lowered camber. Toe I'm still undecided on, currently the same, but likely to change. I've also altered the diff very slightly (can't remember exactly what) and reduced the brake strength.

It's worth getting hold of the same Aston that Praiano submitted for the Shootout and examining exactly what he's done with it. It's a work of art...

I have an untouched Solstice that I just got from the UCD. I'd like to fully HP the crap out of it and tune it for RS tires, just to see what this car can do with no limits.

I wish I knew how to tune though. I'd probably screw it up. :P
