Might not qualify as Auto news in some respects but nevertheless, it's news involving automobiles.

50 Cent busted for Lamborghini lane change

sep8-50cent.jpg

Rapper 50 Cent (Curtis Jackson) was arrested today while driving his silver Lamborghini Murcielago roadster. He was pulled over for making an unsafe lane change, and subsequently charged for the driving infraction, as well as driving with an expired permit, driving without insurance and driving without a vehicle registration. He was originally pulled over by plainclothes officers, and initially refused to get out of the car, instead making a call on his phone. More officers eventually arrived, and he got out of the car and was handcuffed. Spectators crowded around the scene, cheering the rapper and booing when Mr. Jackson was handcuffed. By the miracle of modern technology, we have a number of camera phone shots after the jump…

It never ceases to amaze me that these "famous people" think that they're above the law. Is this him trying to be a bad ass rapper dude?

Thou Shalt NOT possess a Chromed Vehicle of italian origin, Neither Shalt though put Chrome wheels on aforementioned vehicle"..

Dumbass... Deserved what he got...

I wish I was there, so I could cheer for the cops.

Exactly. 50 cent is such a scumbag. I can't believe people cheered for him. I also can't believe he had the nerve to refuse to get out of the car and call someone on his phone.

Edit: I'm also glad that Unique did his ride. Now I have 100% reason to hate them. Figures that morons do business with other morons.

YES! About time one of these punks had the book thrown at 'im.

He also has no license plate on that thing. Idiot.

Couldn't the "Unique" plates fore (white) and aft (black) be Vanity Plates ?...

Indeed - and he was correctly cited for driving without registration.

By the way, I'm not exactly sure that I would get out of my vehicle if pulled over by a plainclothes police officer. Frequently, people pretend to be police officers just to be in a position of trust then rob or rape people they "pull over." Had I been in his position, I would've waited for a uniformed officer to come before surrendering - something you're encouraged to do if you're unsure about the validity of the arresting officer.

To quote Sean Connery in The Rock:

"Personally I think you're(50 Cent) a ****ing idiot!"

No. They're the show-plates for stupidass Unique autos or whatever they call themselves. They have a show on Speed, but it's plainly obvious that they are horrible at what they do and all of their clients are idiot athletes or rappers who are putting chrome rims and subwoofers in the car.

Same here! 👍

Amen!!

publicity stunt. Get over it. This isnt exactly auto news is it?

Meh, it's close enough. Maybe current events would be better though. But since its really about 50 cent driving his car like an idiot, we can leave it here.

Gah, he deserved to be arrested for doign what he did to that Murcielago in the first place.

I stand corrected !

Thanks ;-)

I remember that car. I actually think it looks pretty cool. Not that I would drive it.

Fitty sounds like an idiot. He'd fit right in with some of the professional athletes. 👍

Yeah, really. The man is a multi-multi-millionaire; there's no excuse to not register a car, have no insurance, or a valid license. Just dissin' the system because he thinks he can. Or maybe it's just another instance of former convicts who are convinced that The System is designed specifically to hold them down.

Can we get this crap move out of this section locked or deletd or something. I dont see the point in discusssing this topic.

You've asked already, and you got your answer.

Considering the license and registration probably doesn't cost much more than the average schmoe with a Ford F150 pickup, he's a frikin' idiot for not coughing up the $50 (that's 50 cents multiplied by 100, Mr. Jackson) to legally drive a car.

As for the insurance on a Lamborghini, I'm sure it's many more Kennedy half-dollars. Maybe if all his recent album releases weren't postponed by all those arraignments, he'd get that check out on time.

Yeah he was fair enough to refuse to the plain clothed officers, but what an idiot.

I heard on the news he was goin somewhere and wanted to make an entrance?

That's right, encourage famous people to continue to break laws that everyone else in America must adhere to, because they're "special".

I hope they impoud his car until he gets his paperwork in order.

The guy was shot nine times everyone, chill out. :)

10th time's the charm...

I can understand not getting out of your car for a plain clothes plod for fear of "x", but not when it's a soft-top...

It might be like that in Florida, but in New York it's based on a percentage of the vehicle's purchase price - he was looking at maybe five figures to register that car. Still - chump change for the kind of person who can afford it!
