500 PP RACE SERIES​

Firstly Hi, I was searching for a racing series. I couldn’t find one that had the correct time for me. So I thought that I would start one and just want to see if there would be any interest.
Details

Initially, the lobby will open at around 10.30pm every Friday and Saturday. Qualifying will start at 10.40pm. The race will start at 11pm. Once the race starts its game on. Each track will have 2 races following a lot of the GT series and there will be the same as above 20 minutes qualifying and then the race. Each race will last around 25-20 minutes. There will be a race event Friday and Saturday nights.
The championship will consist of 32 races over 16 weeks.
Racing
DO NOT shunt other drivers off the road or to gain a position. Accidents do happen and if they do and you punt someone off track, wait for them to re-enter and do not gain their position. Remember that you can always catch them back up so wait to overtake if you need to.

Pit Etiquette
Make sure you pit properly, from entry to exit. This means entering at a cruising speed, and exiting in a manner that will not damage the fluency of the oncoming traffic. We recommend you to enter and exit within the boundary lines. All drivers must also make one mandatory pit stop throughout each race. At the length of our races on softs, you will need to.

The following layout will be employed for the race lobby. It also includes Driving Aids all drivers must negotiate to.

ABS will be on but apart from that the rest will be banned.

Penalties: Light
Draft: Weak
Boost: Off
Weather Changeability (Where Applicable): 2
Surface Water (Where Applicable): 2

Points System
1st: 20 Pts
2nd: 16 Pts
3rd: 13 Pts
4th: 10 Pts
5th: 8 Pts
6th: 6 Pts
7th: 4 Pts
8th: 3 Pts
9th: 2 Pts
10th: 1 Pt
11th-16th: 0 Pts


Disconnection Forgiveness: There will be a time where Disconnections are inevitable during racing. If you are victim and have finished at least 75% of the race, the points will be half of your final position.

Crews/Teams: Drivers may wish to create a team of two to battle against other teams or solo drivers. The "crew" must have a representative name and share the same manufacturer.

The Cars
Any car is acceptable, road or race as they will all equal out eventually. Road cars have the power but Race have the cornering.
Tunable Assets
You can tune your cars as much as you want, such as attaching aerodynamic parts, to modifying gear ratios. You may also share your tunes here. But remember that PP is set at 500.
Registered Drivers List
Dependant on let downs the room may allow Guests, which can race in the series but are not accounted for the championship.

Could be interesting but I have a suggestion that will both alleviate a potential issue and mix things up a bit. Each week you will have a driver who is the top point getter. Whichever car he is in each week, add it to a "Retired Car" list and remove it from competing each week. If not you run the risk of having this turn into the "NSX or Elise to Win Series" and you'll have the same small pool of cars winning all the races. By dropping the winning cars you promote variety and skill as opposed to just picking one of the top 2 or 3 cars to be competitive and everyone who doesn't pick them is an also-ran.

What about the HSC or the S2000? But yes this could be good. If others want to join then i'll put a vote on it.Interesting concept though

Im unsure which gmt emt etc it is uk time of 10.30pm. if and when there is enough interest Il set the dates. Ill be on tonight for a mini session. will be on around 11pm (uk time) PSN me if you wish to race

Thanks to all for the replies, but I have finally given up. All I'm trying to do is to find a racing series that I can join that occurs on fiday and/or saturday nights also the occasional sundays. But it is very difficult. I have started threads to start a series or looked at threads to join. but to no avail.
What advice can someone give?

From what I have encountered on this site, most people do not like to use racing soft tires. I think you have a good idea going here as there really isn't a series like this on GTP. I would say Sport Soft would be the stickiest tire you would want to use doing something like this. Just my observations from hanging out here the last year and a half or so.

cheers bdubclub, I don't mind what tyres, the pp is low so sports soft will be ok for me its didnt want noobs or people who might struggle to feel excluded. all I want is for people to have a bit of fun. and for myself I wana try a race report and have some more races where the pits come into play as it is alot more strategic whether you blast at the start and pit more or take more care n pit less.
