Just wanted to see how many people would be interested in running an S-tires only event. That way we can focus on door to door competition instead of worrying about who has the fastest lap time. Any car is eligible, but would be restricted to S-tires only. Most of the cars I tested (with random setups) were within a couple seconds of each other, so this could work out pretty good if we get enough people.

What do ya say?

Edit: Times set. Anyone wants to join, see ya out there!

(tomorrow...I'm going to bed right now)

:tup:Glad to take part. Trying to set a fastest lap time in a car I dont like does nothing for me especially when there are drivers out there who are Time Trial specialists. I like to get the fastest lap time too but I want to use a car that I can get the best out of and I have a couple in mind.

See you out there:tup:👍

Hi Guys!

Upfront before anyone wonders what's wrong with me: I am posting this exact message in all threads dealing with racing 550PP RWD Professional at Suzuka.

Reason being: looking at how much (next to zippo) is happening in my own little event from way back then (512bb one-make) and reading into the other threads I get the feeling there is not hell of lot going on anywhere really...

So why don't we throw all events together so-to-say? At least that way we get a nice crowd together and the original idea of online racing (having fun with a good bunch of people) may be restored? Thanks to PD letting us all die a slow death the vibe has understandably run down quiet a bit, maybe it can be revived a bit.

These would be the events involved:

- Expert PP550/RWD Suzuka 10laps (World Event) xx:00 / xx:30 (ripping_silk)

- GTP vs. GTRP | World Event | Suzuka 550PP 10 laps | Clio vs. RX-8 | xx:13 / :43 (EL_ZISSOU)

- 550pp Suzuka RWD / S-tires only @ :20 & :50 (R1600Turbo)

- 512BB '76 One-Make-Event - Suzi 550 RWD - xx:22 / :52 ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page) (Ren831)

- Feed Your NSX Drive!! - Suzuka 550PP [WE] - xx:05 / :25 / :45 ( 1 2 3 ... Last Page) (Synwraith)

I am aware this undermines the initial idea behind some of the events (e.g. racing a specific car), but I'd rather get whipped by stronger cars in a full grid than running a one-make alone....
Maybe commonizing the starting times would create some interesting fun....

Thoughts?

I wouldn't mind that, but then it comes down to the point of my race here. For everyone to race competitively and have close races, R-tires will have to go.

Exactly! I think your post 1 actually fired this idea.....

And yeah, no R tyres would be the only rule. So Roomboter's event would stay untouched, for two races we might have enough people and there's something for fans of both tyre types.

Just need to agree on time schedule here.

Thoughts?

Although it would probably not be a good idea, we could have certain times be certain races. So the minutes could be 00 and 30, even hours (and zero hours) GMT the :00 being Open and :30 being S Tires, Odd hours GMT :00 being NSX and :30 being 512BB. Could leave the GTP/GTRP event as it is (times and all) since that deals with another forum and having two separate timings wouldn't hurt anything.

It probably sounds confusing, so maybe making an image for a time schedule would make things more easily understood. Plus one would have to convert times from GMT to their local time. However, it just might be crazy enough to work.

That just seems like too much to try and remember. Plus, I like doing a couple hour stint of back to back races, without having to change cars. That's a good idea, but don't think it will work.

I'm in! Man, it was a long *** time ago I played. C'mon people this could be fun, and a time waster until the real deal gets here. :)

I won't be on til I got the bloody update downloaded .... :banghead:  (just as a heads up for all who think they can switch on the ps later for a quick race...)

I'm up for this. I just had a failed matching at :00, and I'm running S3's anyways. 550pp is bad enough, I don't need R tires on top of that. I might as well start using traction control :)

I'll have a look at :50. most likely everyone has left by then, but, just in case.

I got a matching failed error and it kicked me back to the main screen. I'll try and join the race at :00 and see what happens there, since my last race only matched with one guy.

oh.! i got in at :50, but was only one other car whose wasn't interested in racing, spent most of his time in the sand, so I bailed. I'll try again at :20 then.

I just ran at :00 and had a fantastic race with a couple Japanese drivers. IMO, that race is how online racing should be. 👍

I'm trying :30 then !! :)

Hey that was good ! I started to get a bit hairy in the last 3 laps though.! I thought I'd be able to pull away after passing you, but you held on very well...that little BM eh?? great race !!

That was completely awesome. I tried my best at the end there, but coming out of the last corner the car over steered a bit and I missed a shift. :ouch:

Luckily for me I'd say.:) I did you no favours by sliding all over the place and taking up all the road. must concentrate more !!

I'm taking a break myself.. I'm losing weight through sweating... better drink.!
Hope we meet again soon, that 1st one especially was great. Thanks for the races... til next time !

Ran Free Run in the NSX for a while, played with the tuning a little. Had a relook at spy's and twisty's tunes from earlier in the year and also BTH_Lacko's which I hadn't used before. Managed a 2'16.180". Although still 1.5 seconds off the ultimate pace but a big improvement from the speed I had in the "Feed your NSX Drive" series that was running. I had a lot of trouble dipping into the 16's back then, in fact I don't think I ever did. Now I see a 15 somewhere. result.

Just out of curiosity, what car is fun here with S tyres? I tried the m3 on S tyres the other day, and it was a lot of fun. Though I can only manage mid 17s to low 18s with her. I'm off this weekend, and wondering what car and what tune? Any help is great thank you.

I've been using the 1-Series tii and the 350Z. G35 Sedan on occasion. None of these are particularly fast, but they are fun. :)

Since this isn't getting much attention, and I have next to no extra time to play right now since I am moving to another state, we can probably lock it down. Mod's?
