5TH RUNNING OF THE ELITE INDIANAPOLIS 500


QUALIFYING

- February 15: 7:00-9:00 PM US EST
- Round 1: 7:00-8:00 PM US EST

In round 1 the fastest 14 drivers are locked into the race. 15th on back will have to make their way in during the Bumping round.
- Round 2 (Bumping Round): 8:00-8:30 PM US EST
In round 2, also known as the bumping round; drivers who qualified 15th on back in round 1 will have 1 final chance to qualify for the race. Drivers 1st and 2nd in this round will start 15th and 16th in the race. Everyone on back will be bumped from the race.
- Round 3 (Pole Round): 8:30 PM - 9:00 PM US EST
In round 3, also known as the Pole round; all drivers who qualified 1st-14th in round 1 will be able to battle it out for pole. This round will set positions 1st-14th for the race.
- Qualifying Procedure
  • Each driver will get 3 laps per attempt.
  • Their laps start as soon as they hit the line.
  • All drivers are allowed to go right up on the track at the end of pit road.
  • The fastest of the 3 laps will count for position.

RACE

- February 22nd: 6:30 PM US EST
- 200 Laps / 500 Miles


CAR SETUP

- Qualifying and Race will have open setups.
- There will be no driving aids allowed.
- Qualifying will have Damage on.
- Race will use no damage but the Elite IndyCar Series oval penalty system.
- No mechanical failures for the ovals in the Elite IndyCar Series.

RACE CONTROL

- Race will be sanctioned by the Elite IndyCar Series, therefore the Elite IndyCar Series rules and regulations will apply.
- The race will utilize the Elite caution system.

Any incident involving 2 or more cars is a caution. If a driver causes more than 2 incidents they will be asked to leave the race.
- Once a caution is confirmed the pits will automatically close. An official will reopen the pits.
- All drivers can enter pit road off of turn 4.
- All driver must use the full warm-up lane exiting on the backstretch.
- If a driver is a lap down and all lead lap drivers pit they can take a wave around to regain a lap.
