Yes you read that right, this type of engine fires like a two stroke but with four stroke lubrication .So the top half has no cams or valves, probably has DFI with one spark plug per cylinder.You also probably could have as many cylinders as you like aswell.It is cheap to build and easy to maintain aswell.
This concept/prototype has been made by an Australian inventor/farmer.And was shown in an Aussy newspaper in 1994 to the general public.The guy had been working on his dream engine for 16 years.Yamaha has already patented the idea for their snowmobiles, whether he allowed them to have the patent is another matter.
This could very well be the future of piston engine technology in my eyes.What do you reckon of this idea ?.
