Slightly loopy German tuning house TechArt is bringing a seriously mad 4x4 to the MPH '06 show this autumn in London and Birmingham.

A heavily reworked Porsche Cayenne, the Magnum produces 600bhp which can push the two and half tonne beast to 60mph in about 4.5 seconds - faster than an Aston Martin Vanquish.

The teutonic monster pumps out its Murcielago-like power courtesy of a heavily modified twin turbo V8 engine, taking the standard output of 450bhp and increasing output by a third - enough to take the Magnum up to 183mph, where possible.

If you want to see it for yourself, MPH '06 takes place at Birmingham's NEC 26-29 October, and London’s Earls Court 2-5 November) in the Sony Ericsson Studio. Alongside the displays of exotica, MPH’06 will feature a live motoring theatre hosted by Jeremy Clarkson and friends. Visitors will also be treated to the sights and sounds of a host of dream cars being tested to their limits in a £1 million choreographed stunt show.

Eeeewww. When I read the thread title I thought this was about a real 4X4 with off-road ability. Like the Carrera 4.

That's not a 4X4. That's an AWD.

I thought it'd be something like a Paris-Dakar Rally car.

I doubt Techart will both putting a dedicated 4WD system in a bling-mobile.
Curse you TVR&FF. But anyways, the one in Top Gear I'm sure wasn't .3 cm off of the ground.
This is an off-road Porsche.

That is nothing more than a blinged up H2 impersonater.

Oh....god. :yuck: :indiff:

I saw a Cayenne that looked like that in Tunbridge Wells once. I seem to recall several children bursting out in tears. :nervous:

I like everything except the larger grille and side openings in the front bumper. Otherwise it looks alright...and that bonnet is hawt!

I see more function than style in the frontend. Looks like a vacuum cleaner in front.

I like the Cayenne, but 500hp in the new Turbo S is terrifying enough in a 2-ton SUV.

Redesign the headlamp covers, and I'd be interested.

Now cars like these detroy the term "offroader" 👎

Aswell as VW (Touareg), Audi (Q7), Merc (M-class); etc.

The only cars which still have the real offroaders are the Japanese 👍

Umm...Both the Touareg and it's brother the stock Cayenne (in all iterations) are very good off-road.

Maybe, America? 💡 Oh, and Japan really doesn't have much of an off-roader anymore either now that the Isuzu vehiCROSS and Mitsubishi Montero are no longer sold.

Nissan are selling at least 5 models of SUV in the UK alone-

Murano
Pathfinder
Terrano II
Patrol
X-Trail

The Touareg managed a 2-3 finish at the Dakar Rally, and managed to win a first place at the Pikes Peak hill climb with nothing more than a roll cage. The Touareg can do damn well for today's SUV's. I'd take a V10 TDI and punish it as hard as I could.

Not to mention the Nissan Patrol, Pathfinder and the Toyota Landcruiser being some of the best 7-seat off-roaders around.

The Murano is about as good off-road as the 350Z. The Pathfinder is an exemption. The Turrano is a rebadged Pathfinder. The Patrol isn't sold in America. The X-trail isn't sold in America yet, and looks like it will be about as good off-road as the Murano.

Offroader means SUV in the UK, it doesn't mean it has to be a Off-Road Offroader.
