Most fustrating race I've ever had to deal with, and I still havent beat it, best was 2nd place with the Minolta.

I don't have a 2J and idk anyone who has one so I'm stuck having to deal with luck and hoping idiot BOB doesnt run into any corners.

Following cars I've tried...
-Minolta Toyota
-Toyota 7
-Corvette ZR1 RM
-Ford GT LM race car
-Dodge viper team oreca #91
-GTR TC R35
-Xanavi GTR
-Madza Furai
-Challenger RM '70
-ZZII
-Takata NSX

all of these cars couldnt come close to the lead car. ALL of them

I used the Bugatti veyron and i came first and also its big bold and heavy so it might hit one tight corner if your bob is a boss like mine is he will recover and win the race.

Picking the car is not a problem.
Corners 10 and 18 are huge problems though (not the corners, the drivers not knowing how wide their car is, is....)

The best choice in my opinion is the Zonda R.
Requires no tuning regardless of A-Spec or B-Spec, although I personally prefer to reduce downforce.

Keep entering the race (main screen) and quit when you see a BMW-McLaren F1 GTR as the car in position #1, this opponent will make your race very difficult.

Easy races will be the ones with lead cars such as Corvette C5R, Ford 2000, etc.

Edit : And yes, my level 40 Bob will still make that mistake when approaching the slalom in the early stages (lap 1 to lap 6) but don't panic. With the Zonda R, he will be able to catch any opponent as long as it isn't the McLaren. Keep him in "Pace Down", he will inevitably crash in the slaloms but don't panic and restart. He will eventually catch up to win.

For me it's not an issue with a car being fast enough... My driver refuses to overtake the cars in front of him more than half the time he gets an opportunity.

He'll come up behind another car and whip to the side like he's going to pass, then slam the brakes on and pull in behind them.

When *my* driver hits the wall on the slaloms, he takes much longer to recover and get on track than the other AI drivers do when they hit the wall.

It's getting to be *BEYOND* aggravating to waste all that time to watch him follow behind the 1st and 2nd place cars for the last 6 laps. He doesn't even TRY to pass once he's in 3rd.

Ahh Monaco I have been trying this for months with different cars and always the same corner at the tunnel exit always turns into quick and closest I've ever came is 3rd going to try getting 1 of my bobs to 40 before trying again does anyone know if that will make a difference cause tried every level since 30 and stopped at 35 cause he has clattered that corner every time.:ouch:

Get yourself the 'NISSAN GT-R Concept LM Race Car' then choose your happy BOB and take them to compete in 1 or 2 less demanding races first of all, hopefully he will win these and if he is still happy go straight to the Monaco race and he should do well.

It all really depends on how you control him, if he is running hot in the red all the time you need to slow him down as you approach those critical turns that he is prone to steaming straight through and bashing the barriers.

Finally tamed the beast that is Cote D Azur was pretty easy in the Zonda R did hit that tunnel exit corner but only when other drivers were around guessing it was just a panic turn by the bob recommend the Zonda R for all the B-spec 650pp challenges requires little to no effort even when you turn the power down to make the 650pp grade.

Share the pain...

It took a lot of tries, but have now beaten the event with 2 different drivers and cars in B-Spec and personally in A-Spec -- advise well taken to avoid the opponent roster that includes the MacLaren. The Corvette-included list is considerably slower. Many people win with the Mazda Furai, detuned to 650, and this is the car that my #1 B-Spec driver won with finally -- and actually led the last 3 laps, so I had to keep cooling him down. Then, to educate a slightly weaker #2 driver, I had him do the two qualifying races in that Challenge and then moved into the Cote d'Azur event... and rotated through a number of 650PP cars. For fun, I seriously de-tuned a Pescarolo-Judd Race Car, but its pretty wide and the usual problems occurred at Nouvelle Chicane (corner at the bottom of the tunnel) and Anthony Noges (corner onto the front straight). Also had a couple of Ford GTs and the Zonda-R (which works very well in most events) in play at various points. The weaker driver (Level 19, so a little below the recommended experience level) took three attempts to win with an Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro Chrome Line that I had won some time ago and never did anything with. Tuned it up to 650+ and then ballasted it. Relatively light on the front end anyway but ballasting it helped to keep it in qualifying points spec and improved the downforce to boot. Very accurate turn-in, and the four-wheel drive and judicious gearing helped with overtaking in the tunnel, so a driver can finish the position and is able to get back onto the racing line. Also, some *very* nifty overtakes on the climb up to Casino. Most of the time, I am coaching drivers to "maintain Pace"... until they establish a comfortable lead, and then its all about keeping them awake. In one race, he apparently went into a coma and ran smack into the corner wall on the left of the short chute leading down to the hairpin below Casino. Really?

Anyway, just as with Monaco/ Monte Carlo Formula One, its not really about speed -- its grip, acceleration, and precision.

I have to back up the Mazda Furai suggestion - it's brilliant. Took the lead on the 6th lap and cruised to victory. After having tried countless other cars with about 20 total attempts, failing each time due to Bob's incompetence!

Done it with the Corvette C6 Race Car, just make sure you get a grid with its older brother the C5.R and the Ford Falcon as the leading cars. The Citreon GT was the danger car but it had so much problems crashing into the chicane early on I took the lead easily by lap 5-6 and never got caught up after the GT finally got into 2nd. Boy so much traffic during the race lol.

i did it in a furai

the thing corners like nothing else but really lacks top end, will never ever play that again just like Daytona nascar
