I'm doing some quick testing to see what cars will give this track a hiding. In all honestly the event isn't hard, but some will struggle no doubt. Note this was done with a DS3, so if you use a wheel you'll likely find it a lot easier.

Notes:
Good cars can be considered easy wins
Sub optimal means just that- they can be won with, but it can be a challenge depending on driving ability
Time: Lap time compared to fastest car (as of time of writing)

Good cars:

1. Mazda Furai
Tune: Avid
Notes: All upgrades, horsepower turned down to meet 650PP. Excellent handling in corners.

2. Toyota Minnolta
Tune: Avid
Notes: Quicker in the straights than the Furai, but not as hot in corners. Turning the engine down to 50% makes the car a bit lethargic in performance, however, still one of the quickest cars.
Time: On average +0.8-1 vs. the Furai, but it can go as quick- but it needs to be pushed VERY hard to do so, and you'll be liable to make mistakes.

2. Peugot 908 HDi FAP
Tune: RKM
Notes: Still not on par with the Furai. Very comparable to the Minnolta, but not as gutsy on the straights.
Time: +1-1.2

3. Pagani Zonda R
Tune: Avid
Notes: Naturally aspirated, only a few minor upgrades such as rigidity and tires.
Time: +1.2 seconds compared to Furai

4. Yellowhat GTR
Tune: Avid, with some personal tweaking
Notes: Most of the field are going to be these JGTC/Super GT cars- making this style of car the best match if you want an even race JGTC's are the car to go for. Keep in mind it's a rolling start and you have 11 people to catch, and having the Mclaren in pole can mean you have to push the car pretty hard to win.
Time: Approx. +2-3

5. Dodge Viper SRT-10 ACR
Tune: GT_God
Notes: I expected this to perform really poorly- not the case. It does need to be handled gently and slowly through the bends, but 900 horses on tap is it's savior.
Time: +3

Sub optimal:
ZR-1 RM: Better than the GTR here, but still feels heavy in the corners. Can still be won with without too much difficulty, but it doesn't handle great. Excellent power though.
Time: +~3.5-4 seconds

Mine's BNR Skyline: Handles very well in corners, probably better than the Zonda. Way outclassed power wise though (Note this car only came in at 604PP vs. the 650 limit).
Time: +5.5 seconds

Poor:
GTR V-Spec '09: Excellent in the straights, but lacking in the corners. It might make 850+ hp, but it really struggles in the bends.

*Note list is continually being added to

Done this with the GT-R R35 TC with no problems.

I guess the main issue is the other racers. A Zonda LM in the lineup will make a big difference in difficulty for this race. If not, i guess any car tuned to 650pp will do it with no problems as well.

Edit: did you turn TC off? I only race with no helps (only ABS=1) so it must be considered since high power cars are way more difficult to handle without TC on.

Audi R-8 Team Playstation Oreca seemed like a blow out. Minor tuning on my own part. Little downforce, lower height, stiffer springs, and RS's. Tuned down engine to get 650.

Might have something to do with how well it takes those s-curves and U-turns. It doesn't spin out easily if you always slam the gas down only 3/4ths so you can take every corner pretty fast and get back on it hard if you get the habit right. I am by far not a great driver so it says something.

This and this.

Madrid is a killer with too much power, I've found. The undulations and bumps make it a real challenge with an overpowered car. R35 TC is way more fun and still requires five relatively good laps. For me, anyway :)

Agree, The car is not the real problem, I just hate these twisty town tracks... especially with extra powerful cars!!

At least, Rome is more fluid with a powerful super car, but Madrid... what a real B-tch! Just can't be concentrated enough to avoid 1-2 collisions with the barriers... and loose all hope to win it. The slight error and is a sure ticket to scratch your hair in despair. Also Not so easy to modulate power with the DS3 during acceleration with theses beasts. I really have to get my wheel ready...

The Standard Mclaren F1 is a good car to use, I increased downforce to use the most of the PP Allowance. Other than that I just had ABS on and no HUD or aids.

I've won in both a Furai and a Zonda R. When the boss car is the Viper, winning is pretty easy even if you make a few mistakes. When the boss car is the McLaren F1 GTR..... good luck; make no mistakes.
