'66 Ford GT40 Road Car Problem..

I don't know if its a bug or what but I've just bought the road version of the '66 Ford GT40 and stock set up it just will not pull away properly, it just crawls along at 15mph. if i want it to move at all, i have to stop and rev the hell out of it first and even then sometimes doesn't move.

anyone else had this problem?
 
That's kind of to be expected when a car with 4 gears still does 170MPH. Put comfort tyres on it (more equivalent to the tyres the real thing used) and it'll wheelspin better.
 
The Ferrari F-40 was precisely the same first time I tried it. Changing settings helps.

well when you've never experienced this before it feels like a problem but understand now. forgot about the tall gearing.
 
That is turbo lagg take 1 gear and move half way to right

Yes - there is a serious problem with the GT40 Road Car 1966 and no it's not just because of tall gearing - I was planning to include these cars in my next championship for Historic Le Mans cars which is tuning prohibited on race hard tyres, but because of bugs with the GT40 it had to be excluded. We did a lot of testing and it takes approximately one minute longer than any other car in the series to complete a pit stop with a GT40 at certain tracks (for example Laguna Seca and Willow Springs) - the car simply will not accelerate and is stuck for long periods at either 15, 16 or 17mph depending on the track.

If you change the tyres to sports tyres the problem goes away so I am now planning a GT40 championship on Sports Mediums - it's a shame because on bog standard settings with Race Hard rear and Sports Soft fronts this car has a fantastic edgy feel and is great to race - sadly it's just impossible to do pit stops with it on those tyres with standard settings!
 
managed to find a good set up to make it pull away better. added a little more power so its now got 428BHP added fully racing suspension and left it default setting. even with racing tyres it pulls away nicely.

All it needs to pull away easier is a customisable transmission.

TCS off on CH tires, it still only musters a slight chirp on launch. The thing has a very long first gear and doesn't benefit at all from TCS on launch with the default tires.

ive got RS tyres with TCS on and its running fine. all i did was add little more power (428bhp) everything else is stock and it pulls away fine and im starting to love it =)
 
I got a new GT40 Mark I '66, bone stock with an oil change. Stock Sport Hard Tires equipped & all assist turned off.

First gear seems fine, no issues, its a tall gear and if you dont rev up to launch it takes a few seconds to get over 20 or so mph. Nothing wrong with that.

Im going through the pit lane at 50mph with AutoDrive & never got stuck at 15, 16, 17mph what tracks cause this? Leaving my pit it takes a few seconds to get over 20mph then into the power band but nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Is this an online only problem? Or has it been fixed?
